I purchased the new Garmin RV GPS with a Built-in Dash Cam this past Summer and like both the GPS and the Dash Cam.

I got one, even after a several calls to the tech line, never could figure out how to use it.
Confusing directions and icons so small I couldn't tell what they were, took it back. Don't recall the brand.

I have the Crosstour CR600. There are many to choose from but this one has worked well. I like the simplicity and small footprint.

We use the Y1 Smart Dashcam. Wouldn’t leave home without it. Install SD card, power up, nothing else needed. Records and overwrites flawlessly. Clarity is great. So many extra features. Top rated. We have had it for 2 years.
Check it out.

We have the Garmin 785 GPS with Built-in Dash Cam.
I purchased directly from Garmin, they had a special this summer with
free shipping. I like the fact that you can zoom in and change the route to suite your style of travel.

Whichever dash cam you end up with, first, make sure you have backup manufacturer support and secondly, that the screen size and functions on that screen are readable. I bought one for my wife;s SUV and it has neither. The screen setup directions were so tiny that you needed a magnifying glass to read them. It went in the trash. The one I had in the truck has no support and works only occasionally and will be trashed soon as well. My history with these dash cams -- is lousy!

I have a Viofo A129. Relatively cheap, 1080P, has a lot of features, and works great. Front and rear cameras. Got it on Amazon. Uses wifi to connect to my phone. Added the bluetooth button that allows you to save/lock footage on demand.

I work with truckers and these guys swear by dashcams. People always mess with them, brake checks, pull in front of them and go slow, won't let them merge, etc. They have to protect themselves against road rage drivers in the case of an accident. Driving is their livelihood.

We are essentially in the same boat pulling these trailers around. They are big, heavy, don't get up to speed quickly, require larger than average space to maneuver and braking isn't always ideal. People lack patience these days and tend to over react. Then you have the people who can't put down their phones. I felt it in my best interest to add an extra layer of protection.

dash cam

We have the Whistler brand dash cam. Bought it at Costco for a good price. It's the "dual dash camera, model D2200. It has two cameras (one on each side of the housing) that are adjustable. One can point out the front, and one could point to the back I suppose, to either watch whomever is in the back seat (crew cab?) or the trailer behind. I have ours both pointed at slightly different angles so it both covers the front and to the sides a bit. It's all about liability when you go to court after the guy who cuts you off then slams on his brakes claims you were following too close and rear-ended him! At least you have the evidence to dispute his claim. It's why buses and truckers have them now! Have had it for over two years now with no problems, and they do have good customer support.
