Well found out today our truck is also totaled, sad day! 2007 GMC 2500hd LBZ diesel/ allison 61,300 miles, it was almost perfect! truck ran perfectly after accident, drove it home almost 800 miles with no issues. makes one wonder. Such is life!

Easy to total a 10 year old truck as the book value is low and repairs high. If the frame is not damaged get a few estimates for body work. After you settle with the insurance company offer $300 for the truck as salvage and have it repaired if it makes financial sense. 61,000 miles I often put on a truck annually, yours is hardly broke in....

The trucking company owes you a new truck and new trailer. I had a 2001 Ford F-250 totaled by a Dodge Colt in Canada because driver fell asleep and hit us head on. This happened in 2005 right after retiring. The truck had 18,000 miles on it. The Canadian insurance gave us a good settlement and our insurance paid us what we almost paid for it in 2001. Still, it was almost like new when totaled and took many more thousands od dollars to replace when we had just retired months before. Not in the budget. We were not towing the trailer when it happened. It messes you up mentally after being hit head on.
