Rick......go for it. That bridge is amazing, an engineering marvel. And the others are correct. Safety is the word of the day. If the winds/weather are threatening they will not allow high profile vehicles to cross. You will know well in advance so don't worry about it. But when the weather is good the ride across "Big Mac" is great.
BTW, while you're there, if you have time, check out the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum ( http://www.shipwreckmuseum.com/ ). You will not be disappointed.

Slufoot, thanks for attaching the link, that was interesting especially the radio communications. We're going to make it up there hopefully in a year, the problem is I'm estimating that it would take us a couple of weeks for the trip. Thanks again
