Broken Svenson valve!

This topic has come up before. The other evening at campfire, two people came up and ask if they could use are restroom. I used my standard answer, "sorry broken Svenson valve". Its polite and never gets questioned. Lil later in the evening one of my guest ask for campground bathroom code. I said use ours, he said, but what about the "Svenson Valve"? Lol. How direct are all of you with toilet outsiders?

That's great! I am going to use that line also. We have had several people ask us that while we were at COE parks.

Never been asked. Complete strangers have asked to see the inside of the Montana, we tell them no. Check out a dealer if interested.

I like that. But no one has ever ask us that. Only people (other than family) that has ever been in ours was a couple camped next to us several yrs ago. And then only after 2-3 days of having talking with them and finding out they were considering selling their MH and buying a 5er.

Been camping since I was a kid and while in the Scouts shared a bush a time or two, but since I've had campers I've never had anyone ask you use the bathroom.

We have been asked several times over the years. Guess we look friendly, or worse look vulnerable? Twice by mothers with small children, other times by people trekking through the camp sites! On a serious note, I believe in situational awareness. With drug seekers, tweekers, all forms of potential "bad" outcomes, I just say no! It's camping, pee behind tree! If your where I camp, then you have facilities nearby. If you find us dry camping...you are not coming inside! Pretty simple stuff!

We have never been asked, by a stranger, to use our restroom. The answer would have to be "no". I might have a harder time saying "no" if it was for a little child, I might have to think about that one but you really need to be careful out there.

We have never been asked but the answer would have to be no. Good grief has anyone ever had a stranger walk up to your stick home and asked to use your bathroom? I fale to see the difference between a stick home or my 5er? JMHO

Let me see if i understand this. Another camper that has just out of the blue comes up and ask to use your bathroom? I would look and see if there looking for pills in the medicine cabinet. That is so fishy. I would not even give that an answer to them.

When complete strangers ask to use your restroom, chances are they will look into your medicine cabinet or drawers for prescription medicines to steal.

Thank you. I assure all of you, I was not expecting others to think my post was somehow an impossible situation, or result of overly active imagination. Sue and I have had "tent campers" ask to use our restroom, on several occasions over last 20 years. On other RV sites we talked about this happening, and it appeared to somewhat common, especially in State and National parks. As for medicine chest, I can assure you people look into cabinets in your home. Addicts are all around us today. Ministers, cops, lawyers, doctors, judges, children and respected individuals from all walks of life. In Ca getting any legitimate pain opiates script is now a big deal. The clampdown on obtaining theses meds has left seekers with what they perceive as no choice, and home invasions etc. are increasing. You walk with cain or have any obvious impairment, you're a target. Norco sells for $14.00 to $25.00 per pill in many areas. When someone needs these drugs, they will do anything! (Please our law enforcement members chime in)! Thread has gone off track from intent, but it's starting a new conversation of importance. That said, I can assure you crime stats will reflect increase in drug seekers becoming inventive at finding drugs. Hell we lock my pain meds and heart meds in "hidden locked safe inside RV."! One of my heart meds could kill a heathy person. Last year, an RN Nero Surgery nurse, who helped me at the hospital, came to our home and begged me to help him. He had gone to several other patients. Needed pills till his script could be filled. Unfortunately he did not know I worked for Ca Medical Association for 30 years, and was required by law to report him. As I had done to several doctors during my career. With his cooperation, he avoided jail and we got got him in a drug program. He lost his career for a time. He admitted to me that he stole his mothers pills, patient pills. He lost wife and access to his child, but has done well and is on a path that might get back a limited license in future. Just my two penny's.

We have never been asked. However, circumstances would dictate my response. If it were a child with parent and the child were doing the "potty" dance, I could see myself saying ok. From most of the responses here, I don't think most of us will ever have to answer the question.
