After market parts, for me, update.
Going in a few minutes to have the other knee replaced. Just for added fun, the forecast for this afternoon, while I'm in recovery, is for a possibility of severe storms with a small chance of tornados. Always some excitement. Wish me luck.
Thanks for all the good wishes. Back in the room now with a new knee. Had it done in Manhattan, KS. With all the latest (MRI to match parts to my bones,etc.). So far much improved over the experience 10 years ago with the other one and that wasn't all that bad.

Some of the aftermarket parts are pretty good. They have come a long way in the last few years.
Good luck.

I always ask for OEM parts. But that is just me.
Good luck on the procedure.

Good luck, Dick. A couple of laps around the reservoir over at CG and you'll be as good as new. Assume your having surgery in Topeka.

After three back surgeries the last thing I wanted to hear was knee surgery. Sounds like you got this under control. Get well and start chasing the DW! Lol

Hate to say this, but Becky got a new knee in August, was doing great, and in March, over seven months later, developed an infection in the knee. They went in, cleaned it all out, replaced the spacer, and stapled her back up. Then six weeks of antibiotic infusion, at home, and done a little over a week ago. They pulled the PIC line out, and we packed up and headed north. Two days later, the infection is back. She sees the surgeon tomorrow, most likely they will have to remove the parts, go another six weeks, then go back in with new parts. They say this happens in about one percent of replacements, and isn't neccesarily from the surgery. This was a staph infection. On top of all this, I had a hip replaced just before Christmas, and it's doing great, so I'm Becky's nurse.

Dick-- Did they us a GPS to align your knee? We heard about this AFTER I had my knee replaced and they say that some doctors are doing this so it is aligned exactly. Don't know what or how they do it but that is something that is going on now.
Hope you're mending well and that the PT is not to hard on you! See you in July at the CPRR!
