Outside shower problem
Tried to attach the shower hose to the water faucet bracket and no matter what I try I cannot get the quick connect to seat. It seems that the quick connect will not seat far enough to allow the catches to close around the connecction.
Any solutions to this problem out there. Thanks for your assistance.

Try turning the water off and releasing the pressure by opening the tap in the kitchen. I recall a similar issue with the quick connect that I resolved that way.

Had the same problem for a long time, struggle and struggle to get it to catch. One day, I had just about enough of it, thinking about how to replace it. Then, just for the heck of it, I got out a can of silicone spray and gave it a shot. ....works great now!

They get gummed up, silicon helps. Some times they have to be de limed with vinegar or CLR works good

Even if you never use it the material they used for the connection corrodes. Silicon spray for me also.

Yep. Silicon for me also. Fought mine for 2-3 years until I saw someone here mentioned silicon. Has worked fine ever since.

Yep same thing happened to me. Used it once and the next time could not connect the hose. I used a phillips screwdriver inserted into the female side to break it loose, then the hose would connect with ease. I now keep it lubricated with silicone spray and have not had the problem since.

I used mine once and it worked fine. Went to use it again after a year and I couldn't get the hose in for nothing. Finally took the quick connect off the shower and inserted the hose into it off the rig...worked like butter. Put it back on and it still worked. And I had bled pressure off before...bad juju on these monntys sometimes. John

I applied a small amount of faucet grease (from Ace Hardware) to the brass end of the coiled hose. Thats worked for about two years. Bill

What I did was to squirt silicone spray into the quick disconnect fitting, and used an air gun to distribute the liquid through the locking balls and collar(cover with a rag so you don't get it all over you!). I also manipulated the locking collar by moving it back & forth, and spinning it around a few times. Then repeated the process all over again.
If this does not do it for you, you could try using PB Blaster spray instead for an initial dose. This stuff(PB Blaster) is magic juice! http://www.blastercorporation.com/PB_Blaster.html

I had to slip the lock collar back just a tad, then insert the male end, locked right into place
