Yes they have had bad problems with the Goodyear Marathons. There are dozens of post on here about them. They call them Marabombs. You may as well replace all 4. Try and get up to Montana so you don't have to pay sales tax.

You'll find posts on Marathons not just on this forum but on most forum's they just don't cut it on rigs our size. There's an article I pulled off another forum that explains why and what options you have. If you'd like a copy email me at dqdick10432@yahoo.com and I'll send it to you. If it were me, I'd also replace the spare. As you travel around the country finding replacement tires you like and want can sometimes be an issue and you don't want to run over some road debris and ruin a good tire and then have to run a long distance knowing you've got a Marathon back there. Just my opinion.

Call Goodyear. Some have gotten a good credit for all 5 towards new ones.

Just had one blow today, ended up with some considerable damage to the underside of my 5er. This is a new rig less than 6 months old, will Goodyear cover the damage? We have a tire pressure monitoring system and everything was green (good) up to the blowout. My wife want's me to get rid of all the remaining tires, will Goodyear give us a deal on better quality tires?javascript:insertsmilie('')

Listen to your DW for a change (LOL). She has the right idea. Others have had good results with Goodyear, so it won't hurt to contact them and see what they have to say.

I finally replaced all my Maypops with G-614s yesterday. I have been through the Mission tire failure (3500.00) damage. Replaced Missions with Marabombs (2900.00) damage. And yes Goodyear will usually cover damage and some reembursements. Now we have Goodyear G-614s (made in USA) G rated instead of E. 3750 lb rating instead of 3100 with Marabombs. Now at least we have some wiggle room...

Thanks for comments. On our trip we had a total of seven goodyear marabombs failures on 3 different campers. Two of which were not Montanas but all equipted with marabombs Bro n law replaced 2 with 2 more marabombs dealer in Mitchell S.D. told him these where special.I made it to within 35 miles of home when my third marabomb let go. Right after I crossed Monteagle Mtn on I24.

Didn't look where you were from when I sent you the tire article. My daughter, BJ Wright, lives and ranches with the Addis family out on Addis road.

Good friend had Missions on his 2008 3295RK. Replaced them with Marathons last year since he was concerned about all the reports of blowouts on the Missions. Had a blowout on a Marathon this year damaging the side of the trailer.
His Marathons were made in China also.

Would like to say GOODYEAR paid for tire replacement and damage to camper. GOODYEAR stands behind their product.

I think you were lucky Mike and am glad they took care of the problem, the thing I see is the time involved that anybody must put up with when they repair the rv the time of the rv being in the shop for some RVers it is there home and it realy hits them hard. as for us weekend warriors its no problem. I have LT tires on my monty and it came with them, I have not as of yet had any problems with the first set and I am now on the 2nd set on my 2004 no cracks or blisters. I will never buy Maypops.
