Converter or battery?
Yesterday we unplugged Monty from shore power in anticipation of the rain predicted. Today I tried to open the slides w/o shore power and they would not open. I hooked up the electric and they worked.
After unplugging again I checked my Level Up display and it showed low voltage, once again connected it showed 13+.
The Iota converter/charger is located under the bottom step going to the bedroom. With the converter plugged in and lights turned on everything was fine. I unplugged the converter and the lights went dim.
Is there something to check that may prevent the converter from charging the battery? FYI, when I closed the slides, with shore power, the converter fan kicked on. I'm assuming the converter is OK and that I'm missing something simple. Though the battery is only 2 1/2 years old I am taking it in tomorrow for a load test.

If I recall correctly, when plugged in you should make sure the battery disconnect is at the position where the batteries are connected to the coach and not disconnected. Then the converter charge will reach the batteries.

After I reinstall the battery I will make sure the disconnect is turned on. I actually don't remember whether it was or not. We haven't used it in almost a year and I know I had it turned off when not in use. Let's hope it was that simple. Thanks

The bad news is the battery will not take a charge. The good news is it is not the converter. This will be my second Interstate battery that has gone bad. The first one was due to my negligence and this one died right at the end of the pro rated warranty. I'm not sure if I want to stay with Interstate. Any suggestions?

I had the same type of problem. So for me personally, two 6 volt batteries have worked longer for me. At three and a half years on them, they are still like new. (knock on wood).
I was getting two to three out of one or two 12 volt batteries and the performance declined over time.

I've always had good luck with Interstate battries. A good product for a fair price.

It seems as thought the fault was mine, again. The battery needs some TLC rather than being ignored for almost 1 year. Interstate has the best price and they have always served me well in my truck.
