Outside shower

OK, need a little help. Our new Monte has the quick connect in the convenience center for the outside shower hose. The blue hose that is supposed to fit there will not go in far enough to allow the quick connect to lock it in. Am I missing something?

Which is exactly why my blue hose has been attached to the "quick connect" since the first trip and I have no plans to remove it.

They tend to corrode inside, I believe. Can't get mine to connect either, but since I never use it for anything it's no big deal. Anyone who knows me doesn't want to see me showering outside

My thoughts exactly Dick. We mid-west guys are a little more modest than those southern boys.

Wow, people really use those things? The last time I took a shower outside was in a very cold deer camp where we hung a bag of water in a tree for the sun to warm up and threw a tarp around it so no one would laugh. Those days are long gone and like DQDick says, you don't want to see me nakid or even partially so. Our outside shower is just a door with a key lock on it and we have no plans to unlock it.

I hope I've had all the open air showers ill ever need, yet we "suthners" do find it fun sometimes. I've hooked mine to my black flush valve, of course with an anti siphon valve, and never use it for any other purpose .

Well, since we're already on this thread.....I bought my Monty as a used unit. It had the quick connect in the convenience center, but no hose. Is this a standard item with Keystone or can I buy the male end and hose from someplace else?

Ours was just disconnected but didn't have a nozzle with it. It works great for hosing off the little ones when they come in from the beach. Usually just use the extra water hose that I hook with a t-connector at the faucet. Hook, that is a great idea using it for the flush. My wasn't corroded, just a pain to connect. Thanks for all of the comments. Always enjoy.

If you have a problem disconnecting the blue hose from the female connection of the quick connect, you can tap the end of the female quick connect with a screwdriver (slotted end) and the outer ring will let go and move in so you can disconnect the blue hose.
Then try a little lube on the female disconnect and it might help. The lube don't seem to last for any long period of time.

Helen uses it to clean out the bottom of the bird cage. The outside shower function would not be a pretty picture.

Like was mentioned, ours stayed hooked up to the black tank flush until we are at the beach, then it converts to wash sand off feet before entering camper duty. It has performed well on both duties. For the question from Rob Walters as to where to get them, here is one site with a decent price:
Blue Coiled Outside Shower Hose
