Cathy and I have decided that part of our back problems are due to our bed, which Cathy says, "Sleeps like a hammock". We are considering a new bed, (DUH!). Can we have your opinions about a 1) memory foam type, 2) latex, or 3) an air bed? We are leaning toward a memory foam but would like to hear from you first before we make a final decision. Thanks!! We have the Americana bear bed which is similar to the sleep number bed in both the house and the Montana. It solved both our back problems.

We love our memory foam mattress. But with them, you have to test it out because no two memory foam companies make them the same. They're different densities.

We switched from water bed to Sleep Number several years ago and have no more back problems. Can highly recommend, especially the individual adjustments which you can't get with any foam mattress.

We have the Select Comfort with individual chambers and love it! When Jim had back problems he could adjust it until he felt comfortable.
Have had it for over 10 years and no problems with it. Definitely recommend it.

Be aware that the memory foam mattresses retain heat. We have a latex one that is better but the heat retention still bothers my wife some. I sure sleep good on it though. Here is a site that will tell more than you want to know about mattresses

We have a Sleep Number Air Mattress. Two controls. Only problem was about 2 months ago our two year old grand daughter set my side at 40 and the wifes side at 20, a setting about 50 lower than we keep them.

Sleep Number here with dual controls and a inverter to run compressor when we overnight for a quick stop. Be aware that you can get sleep number with memory foam.

We have Temperpedic at the stick house and memory foam on top of the mattress in the 5er. Both have relieved back pains for us

We have the sleep number bed in our S&B and love how it’s adjustable. Find the number you like and it’s a good comfortable bed.

Sleep number with dual controls. My back goes in spurts and I like being able to adjust the bed when needed. One caution with any air mattress is to lower the pressure in when traveling because high altitude can make it go POP!

We had put a Sleep Number in our Monty, and it was about the first thing moved out of the Monty into our SOB. Agree with others, the individual adjustment is great.

We had a temperpedic knock-off, called a Bragada, I believe (it's been years since we purchased it). Absolutely love it! In fact, it's in the MOnty now as we travel and it was one of the "must haves" - we would not buy an RV that we couldn't swap-out the mattresses. NO more rolling into each other (unless we want to  ), just great. However, like everything else, for every person who says they love the memory foam, you'll get someone who hates it. BY the way, it did get some getting used to, so if you go this way, give it some time to adjust.

We are very happy with our memory foam from Bed In A Box. Has a goose down cover and does not get hot as some complain about.

Be glad to, but first I brief "issue" with the Sleep Number. On our last trip, I awoke after the first night on the road with a sore shoulder and sore hip. As I was about to complain to the D/W, she said, "we have got to remember to inflate this mattress!!" 
However, even with the Sleep Number properly inflated, we prefer the Tempurpedic.

We spent 8 years on the Sleep Comfort bed without any complaints; we now have a tempurpedic. We prefer the tempurpedic....and don't have to deflate/inflate after moving the rig.
