Last Straw - the 3400RL has had it!!!

I told Cathy I was going to wait for this announcement and am sorry for the way the title sounds so extreme, but that is the case in terms of the bad news. We have absolutely loved the rig, have had a few problems, but all in all it has served its purpose and served it very well. But it is time to move on, see ya' 3400, it has been a good ride. So now what do we do?? The solution was influenced at the Virginia - Mid-Atlantic rally. Everyone who was there remembers that I threatened that the only way I would allow Cathy (DW) into the display was with her eyes and ears covered. It didn't work, both of us absolutely knew when we walked into the 2011 3750 FL that the unit had to have been designed with us in mind. After a few weeks of extensive research, comparison with SOB's and even Class C and Class A motorhomes, we reached a decision with a lot of thanks going to a local dealer as well as Keystone-Montana. A lot of e-mails have been flying back and forth and we should (knock on wood) be placing an order either today or tomorrow for a brand spanking new 2011 Montana 3750FL from the production line. We have opted for a generator, rear-view backup camera, central vac, fireplace and just about every option that can be put on the rig including upgrading the 30 pound propane tanks to 40 pound tanks. We are hoping to take delivery on the rig prior to our Thanksgiving Myrtle Beach (Lakewood) trip. Now all I have to do is figure out how long to leave the Marathon tires on the thing. We are also looking at satellite reciever installation and tire pressure monitoring.

Helen and I always liked the front living room layout and would have purchased the previous model but they stopped making it in 2005. Nice buy.

Great choice Bingo. will you be removing any of the electrical mods you did to the 3400? Are you trading it in or selling it outright. If we were to purchase again we would strongly consider the FL model. Good luck with the new unit. It does seem to fit you guys well......

Hey Phil,
I will be moving the electrical mods other than the front receptacle I installed for the generator. It is a trade on the new model and the dealer gave us a fantastic trade in price as well as a great price on the new rig. I haven't even looked at the new installation requirements for the Autoformer and EMS yet, but I do know that it will be in-line with the shore feed since we will no longer have to lug around the 160 pound generator used for cooling the rig when the pets are crated there during our travels.

Great floorplan! We looked closely at the 3750 until DW saw the 3665 with her interior colors of choice on the lot, along with the options that were "must have" on our list. It's almost like the 3665 was built with us in mind, and with the deal we arrived at with the dealer, was a no brainer for us, and fit in exactly with our 10 year plan.

That new rig bug bit you, huh? Congratulations! CW knew what they were doing dropping that rig off at the rally. Wish you a lot of luck. Hope to see you in the future.

Are you selling tickets for future tours of the new rig yet?
Congrats to you, Cathy and the family.

WOW!
Now Bingo, if you need a second opinion after your PDI we’d be glad to take it out for you for a week or two! You really should have a second opinion on this you know. I’m free for a whole week shortly after your scheduled delivery date & Donna; well she could take off work. Hey, we could even pick it up for you since your dealer is close to where we live!

Awwwww wellll… maybe I was thinking out loud, yeah I know in my dreams huh?

Hey seriously though, I hope you and Cathy really enjoy it and we can’t wait to see it when you all go camping with us sometime.
