3400RL has arrived

Yeah . New Monty is in as promised. We will take our PDI checklist in hand as suggested by MOC family on Tuesday for inspection. Hubby (Jack) is hesitating to bring it home to cul-de-sac and 44ft driveway but I gently reminded him that he plans to drive it all over the country so he might as well start with the driveway.
We plan on taking it to our campground in Madison Pa. for the month of August then on to our first trip and rally in Walnut Hills VA. to make new friends! Back to campground until January 9th then first BIG trip to sunny Florida for approx. 7 weeks. We'll pray that we can drive in between the snow and ice until we get to warmer weather. We are very excited.

The only thing harder to wait for than the actual pickup is the first camping adventure!! Congratulations and here's hoping many happy adventures come your way. See you in Staunton!! By the way, sent you an e-mail regarding Destin, I trust you got it and enjoyed the links!!

Congratulations on that new rig! Take her out for a short run to shake the screws loose and enjoy it!

Congratulations. We love our Hanna 3400RL

From what I have experienced, and what others have reported, almost all new "homes," can have minor problems. Take about a 100 mile shake down cruise and have your dealer fix whatever you find wrong.

My driveway is 45 feet and I back it in since day one to load up. Otherwise I keep it in a storage facility with a post on one side and an RV on the other. About 14 feet wide and just at 40 feet long.

Practice makes perfect.

Just remember that tight turns put a lot of stress on the axles. You will see the tires bend and angle this way and that way. After you have pulled it into the driveway, pull forward as far as you can and back it back in. That will take the stress off of the tires. You may have to do it a couple times.

Good luck on all of your adventures, and welcome to a wonderful forum.

The very best to you and your new 3400...a great choice!

I can't leave my Montana 3400 in our driveway at Clermont FL because the driveway dips a little too much. At first when we got the 5ver, we took stuff to it in it's parked storage area; then as I got more "bold" or surer of myself, I now park it in front of the house right on the street overnight, plug it in, start up the refrig and head out the next morning. Our association doesn't allow storage but is forgiving on boats and trailers in and out.

So what if you have to back it many times over into your driveway. Just tell your neighbors you won a free gas or diesel card!!! GoodLuck. Dennis

Congrats, Peg! BTW, our 2007 3400 measured (NOT brochure length) was 39' 6" nose to ladder. That leaves the hubby a whopping 4' 6" of clearance. I'm sure he will do well.
