Just a minor correction here, off subject, sorry

believe we have 8000 numbers, but a little more than 4000 actual members. some numbers have been discontinued.

just so you have the numbers right.

Sorry, back to helping Diana get that rig back to Canada.

Diana,I believe I Can help. I had the pleasure of meeting you and Colin at Willow Tree this past Oct. I was 3 sites from you on the lake in the Montana Mountaineer f/w. I'm so sorry for your loss. Since we have the same truck and pullrite superglide hitch, Colin told me that he carries the pullrite adaptor plate at all times in the trailer in case he ever had to get towed. My wife had surgery today, so I'm unable to get away until she's on her feet. With the adaptor plate added to any T/Vs F/w hitch, anyone can tow it. I live near Pittsburgh Pa. If no other arrangements are made, I'll shake free in a couple weeks and go down with my truck and bring it to the Niagra area. You can email me at rfish@zoominternet.net

Diana - prehaps someone at the park could gain entry and see if the adapter hitch plate is there. That would allow those that have volunteered to get this job done. could you possible check with the park and see. Then inform the forum. Some how were going to get this done.

Come on folk's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Diana,

I'm sorry to hear of Colins passing. We will keep you in our prayers. I can't help you with the need for someone to tow, but hopefully someone will be along soon who can.

See my post in "announcements from our members.."

We are across the pond near Cleveland Ohio. We would be more that happy to help in some sort of a shuttle from S.C to within a couple of hundred miles from here. Don't know what it would take to get a rig that is not USA owned over the border but perhaps a Canadian can come across and pick it up?? Come on guys maybe we can get it up here in 100 mile or so leaps like the pony express. I don't understand the slider hitch part..We have a standard 16K draw tite hitch

I gave some wrong info on superglide adaptor on my previous reply. although Colin told me he has the plate and advised me that I'd need one if I ever needed towed by road service, I missunderstood how it worked. I thought it went on any f/w hitch. I called pullrite and found out that it only works with a combination of the actual pullrite hitch head from the tow vehicle plus the adaptor plate. They have since come out with an easy to remove capture plate that replaces the original permanently mounted capture plate. Colin and Diana's trailer has the old original capture plate. Without a superglide head to go along with the adaptor, this f/w can't be towed, other than by a superglide. If anyone with a superglide can bring it towards Pittsburgh, I'll get it to the border. Otherwise I'll have to drive 650 miles south, then 1000 miles north, then 350 miles back home. 2,000 miles round trip. Does anyone have a better idea? God Bless, Ray

I also talked to a dealer and got much the same information. I will not be able to give assistance with my 16K draw tite . I will contribute 100.00 toward the expense of who ever can help out.I know that is not much but perhaps others who would have liked to help can pitch in.

Can someone actually call somebody in the area and get a Price to haul that trailer back?
Maybe we all can contribute, this forum should be big enough to accomplish that. Keep in mind, some day some of us might be in the same position, what goes around comes around.
I'll also go $100.00.

Myrtle beach to Toronto is a bit under 1000 miles..The last I knew transporters were getting 1.50 per mile for such a trip.. There is a forum member who does transport..don't remember who ..perhaps he will give us a clue???

Folks,
I, too, emailed Diana, after talking to Good Sams Emergency Assistnace Plus and Horizon Transport, who do just what we're trying to get done. I'll be working on getting a transport quote for our info and putting Diana in touch w/their people re. logistics and border crossing. Stay tuned! If an alternative pops up, be sure to let us know.
