Chevy 2500 Transmission Lines

I had the Duramax to my local service garage today for an oil change. While waiting for the oil to drain, Rick the service man (my buddy) checked over the underside of the truck. He found a wet transmission line (clamps and rubber hose) around the front end. I called the dealer and dealer said that they have been having a problem with them and ordered all 3 lines. Said that changing them is an all day job. Good job , Rick!! Glad he found the leak before we left on a two week excursion to Florida (without the Monty). Now if only the parts arrive before we leave. May have to drive the other Chevy (Monte SS) in the stable.

Also mentioned to the dealer about the intermediate steering shaft acting funny and that will be also addressed. Then, I mentioned about the rust on the rear bumper. That, he said, will be checked when he sees the truck.

All this and only 10,100 miles.

As we speak my truck is at the dealer getting 3 new lines put in... the same 3 tranny lines that were done 1500 miles ago, my best friend is a GMC salesman and says it's a common problem as they get them from a lousy suppler.as long as you own the truck they should pay to replace them, as it was a problem before the warranty was up.
So I'd check them every 1500 miles or at least every 3k oil change.
I had the steer shaft done also.

What do you expect for $47,000.00 anyways??
