Just Ordered 2007 2955RL

Hello:

I've been reading the posts on this forum for the past couple of months, getting educated --- Thanks for all the great information.

We ordered a 2007 2955RL yesterday for delivery in April, now on to the Tow Vehicle -- We have settled on a Ford F-350 Diesel Super Cab, DRW with 8' bed and all the trimmings.

We will be doing a lot of short trips to practice hauling and set-up next spring & summer, before becoming Telecommuter/Snowbirds the winter of 2007/2008.

Will hang off to the side for now and watch for more good information

Ray and Phyllis - You certainly have style !!!. Love the Ford idea and the 2955RL has served us well.

I'm jealous on the 07 - I stopped at the dealer and looked at some of the new decor inside and out. Nice looking rigs. The change certainly dates ours now.

Your 07 will have several improvements over ours (2003), but may inherit some of the new minor problems encountered by others this year. This forum will give you a heads up on these and give you a chance to do some preventative fixes up front, or even to have the Dealer look at before delivery.

Congratulations once again!

Congratulations! How exciting.

We are learning a lot here too (thanks to all the wonderful people on this forum) before we buy our first Montana, which will not be before next summer at the earliest.

I concur with Brad, GREAT choice on your trailer, the truck though is another story! I'm sure you'll love your new Monty and that TV of yours will pull so well you'll have to look behind you to see if it's still hooked up.

Congratulations! You have to wait until April? Gosh, I couldn't wait that long! We have a 3500RL on order and it is supposed to be here around the end of the month, and I can hardly wait! Good choice of trucks too!

Great choice of Montana! We have not seen any of the newer ones but ours is only 2 years old. I bet you have some great camping spots picked out in New England. We hope to return to that area for one of our first extended trips when we finally get to retire. I grew up there and it is where I met Roy when he was stationed at Otis in the AF.

Welcome folks and congrats on those new toys!! We hope you will be able to enjoy them for many years to come. The 2955 is still a popular unit indeed as is any Montana.

Welcome Ray and Phyllis and I want you to know that you picked a great 5er. We have the same model and are in a RV Park on our maiden voyage as I type this. There are some things I would change on the the 2955, but being how most things are compromises, it is a very nice rig. Have fun with yours.

Welcome to the club. This forum is a wonderful accessory for your Montana, and a good way to meet other owners.

We also love our 2955, which Mariana keeps tweaking and improving. Like Don and Donna above, we've added a fireplace (light on the "we;" Mariana did ALL the design and work). It's a great rig for two people who enjoy each other's company. That DRW F-350 is a LOT of truck!

Bill,

How difficult is it to put a fireplace in the 2955? I know my wife and I would love one but I'm not sure I'm capable. I'm a woodworker but shy away from electrical ANYTHING!
