Recent change in Montana bathrooms

In recent plant tour, seen in bathroom of Montana: heat duct! No more freezing cold toilets! Not sure if there is any A/C in there, but they said that every model would have a heat duct in there now.

Gotta go with Ken on the heat duct in the toilet. Don't want it. Would be too hot. We even close the duct in the bedroom.

No air conditioning in our 3670. But a heat duct.

Our 2001 2955RL has a heat duct in bathroom, on which we put an adjustable grate. No A/C vent, but when it's hot I just open the door and let the cool air in.

I thought I remembered a number of MOC members who were very dismayed that there was no heat in the potty area. Thought they might be happy to hear about it.

We do OK without one, (the A/C is not an issue for us), but believe me late fall camping in Michigan and running to Texas in 4 above weather makes that toilet a thrill to use! (BRRRRRRRRRRRRR)

Maybe now we can leave the potty door open and we may get more heat in the upper part of the rv. This can only be a good change.

WOW! I wish I had a heat vent in the water closet. Heck an a/c vent would be great as well, but not as much a problem. Now if Keystone would just put a window in the water closet, that would make life complete.

Now back when I was younger we had an out house and there was no heat (other than that produced under the seat) and no a/c either. That was a very long walk in the dark only to find frost on the seat. Of course we now have indoor plumbing so the out house is only a memory!

How did I get from the trailer bathroom heat duct to an out house? I better have another cup of coffee and wake up.

Why a window in the water closet? Just wondering - I've seen some brands that have that, but don't think I'd like that feature.

Glenn, I can tell you do not winter anywhere where it's cold enough to appreciate a heat duct in there! Try subfreezing temperatures for days or a week or two in a row, never getting out of the teens, like we put up with in order to be close to the kids and grandkids during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays! Then a heat duct would be very welcome! As for it getting too hot, why not just install and adjustable vent cover. Or put a magazine over part of it.

By the way, if we could just convince the kids to move then maybe we wouldn't care about a heat duct either!

I would also like to see both a window and a heat duct. Some mornings there is just not enough fresh air.

Evidently the heat duct has been standard in the 2955RL all the time. For sure we have always had one. And it really works! Sometimes too well.

For those that want a window in the bath, you could consider the Cambridge upgrade. They have one!

CountryGuy,
I was ready to buy the Cambridge until I read the other post on how much the thing really overloads the truck. If I can win the $131MM dollar lotto well then I am sure I will have a truck big enough to tow the Cambridge. Until then, if Keystone will help me out here and give me a window in the Montana. =)

OK Guys,

What is a water closet? I have a clothes closet and a closet (sort of) that is preped for a WD. But I don't think I have a water closet.

rickfox: A water closet is your toilet, potty or whatever you wish to call it. You will frequently see it referred to as the WC in England.
