Iced-In at Odessa TX

Fourth night in Odessa, TX IH20 was just too slippery for us, observed many wrecks on IH20, we arrived safely and figured why take the chance since it is also cold in Casa Grande, AZ our destination. The park water was frozen, but with boiling water poured on park facet was able to get it going and have kept sinks dripping since. Oil Patch RV Park is a basic oil worker location with good hardworking folks all around. This is our first time RVing below freezing temps. Expect to leave here Saturday January 3rd and arrive in Casa Grande on the 4th.

Good luck on your travels. Safety first.

We got lucky over in the DFW area. Temps hovered right at 32-34 so we missed almost all the ice. Certainly glade as we had major tree damage in last year's ice storm.

Several years ago, we got iced in while in Kemah, TX, south of Houston. We just waited it out, never lasts long in Texas.

One wants to be safe for sure so there is never any need to hurry on to the next location in situations like this. Good luck, keep us posted.

We are in Delhart, TX tonight. sounds like we will be here again tomorrow night as they are expecting snow but each TV station gives different amounts. We came west today instead to OKC as they had ice there this morning.

Several years ago we spent part of a winter in South Padre. Had really low temps for a few days with small amount of ice. Bridge and everything else closed for 2 days. Much of the power went down in the area. We only stayed about a month, just too chilly and windy all the time. Only got to ride the Harley 3 or 4 times that whole month.

Landed safely in Casa Grande RV Resort Sunday afternoon Jan 4th, glad to be off the road. We did not ride our recumbent trikes in Odessa, TX as we did not have show chains. Good weather is forecast of Casa Grande. Our next adventure will be dry camping in Quartzite at Circling of the Montanas
