Garmin street pilot 111

Have a question on a loss. When I first turned it on last year at home here in Maine it had all the local streets in every town. When we got to Georgia at my sons house outside Atlanta, only the main roads were there. When we came back home the locals were gone.Just main roads (numbered highways) How do I get them back? How did I loose them? Any help will be appreciated. Thanx Dan

I have the garmin street pilot 111 deluxe.i`am guessing its the same as yours. That is really weird that you lost your local streets when returning home.I would give Garmin a call and let them figure it out. That shouldn`t have happened.Unless you loade up the atlanta area you would only have the base maps while at your sons place. They do offer a 256 mrg card that you can load up almost all of the east coast on it.Let us know what Garmin says on your deleted local streets.

If you have the GPS set to show just your location (not actually running a route) and have a high mileage display set - you will only see the major highways. Try using the "in " button to lower your display setting.

I would suspect that when at your son's location you did not have that locations city maps downloaded from Map Source or again you were not actually running a route and had the high view setting.

Let me know what you find out and let me know if I can be of further
help. I've used the SPIII for over 2 years and got to know it pretty well.
