Frst time in 40 years!

It's been that long since I was able to wear a pair of normal sun glasses and be able to see anything. Two weeks ago, I had cataract surgery on my left eye and had a special lens installed. I started losing my distance vision as a teenager, going to glasses in my 20's. Besides the pair of glasses I normally wore, I had to have prescription sun glasses for each vehicle, plus a spare pair of regular glasses in the truck in case something happened to the regular pair. Now I can see 20-30 with that eye and the Dr. thinks it will get better. In two weeks, I'm getting the other eye done. So today, I ordered a pair of Ray Bans!

I just had cataracts removed. My left eye was done just before a 3500 mile RV trip--had to have a one lens replacement on my eyeglasses. Then after my right eye was done, I can really function quite nicely without any eyeglasses at all. Actually, I bought a $15.00 pair online which are perfectly clear (no prescription) but have a bi-focal reading magnification at the bottom. I wear them primarily for appearance--both I and my wife and friends have grown "accustomed to my face" with glasses.

The world is not only clearer, but brighter; I'd forgotten how bright the colors were.

Hope you and everyone with this problem will do as well as I did. If I'd known I'd have had this done much sooner.

Tom, the wife had both eyes done about a 1-1/2 ago and she loves them. I figure it was the best 4 grand I every spent. Good luck with your new peepers!

Thanks for all the comments and well wishes! I was very tentative about getting the first eye done, but now I'm looking (pun intended) forward to getting the second eye fixed.

Rondo - Charlie says hi!
