Al and Carol,

Sorry to hear of your "adventure"! Sure glad you didn't suffer any damage. But I'd watch those tires for awhile just to make sure all is truly OK.

You're right..... the picture did sum it up pretty well!

Dennis,

You can bet we will be watching those tires, very carefully.

Just curious, has any one ever had anything like this happen to them???

And, yes, Charlie, we are very glad nothing worse happened.

Al and carol

Bet that felt like driving on a concrete highway. Glad there was no damage.

Carol, I had a new 1985 1 ton dually Chevy, and got one of those boulders in between tires. I didn't have to deflate the tire to get it out though, it let itself out. Through the top front of the fiberglass fender, just scraped my left elbow and removed my left mirror. Luckily it didn't hit anybody else. I was doing about 65 on what used to be I-44 between Virginia beach and Norfolk. Talk about pucker factor. When I got the new fender I had my brother-in-law weld mesh screens in the underside of my fender wells. Never had another rock problem... Dave

Wayne, it sounded bad, did not feel bad, but I won't forget the sound of the THUNK THUNK THUNK for a while! After hearing Dave's story bout doing this at highway speeds, I think I am more than glad this happened at 25 MPH. We had to drive 1/2 mile or more to find a place to pull over, then it was in a chiropractor office driveway, he was not real happy with us, but after he heard our sob story he felt sorry for us!

Ron, I am keeping that chuck of Indiana roadway, our memento of the day.

I always say the important thing is no one was hurt. After that, I say some other things that I can't post here.

Glad to hear everyone and everything seems to be okay.

Carol, so glad you guys are ok. Expect the unexpected... Here is hoping the tires are not damaged. That chiro should have offered a free adjustment to help out the stress you were going through.

Carol,

I'm glad no one was injured and everything is OK. Before I read Dave's post, I was thinking this could have been much worse and then Dave came along and described how. I was also thinking this had to make for a noisy and rough ride. Again, glad you two are OK.
