Older Dodge

I have an older Doge 3/4 T, 72,000 miles, Short Bed with stock Diesel. Any comments on how it will pull a 300RK we're thinking of buying? Any comments on the auto slide hitch and/or brake control? RLS

How old is old, I have a stock 2001 w/ 104,000 miles and pull a 3400rl all over the place with it. (We full time and have pulled about 14,000 miles in the last year) If you have a short bed you NEED an auto-slider or something of equal quality. Get the best brake controller you can find, we use a Prodigy, got it thru PPL for about $60.00 less than camping world. Ordered over the net and had it in 2 days. The shipping was less than the fuel to drive across town to pick it up.

More folks will come along and give you more comments, I'm sure.

I pull a 3650RK with my 96 it has 4" ehx and I had the pump reset under warranty it was low. It pulls fine and get 11 to 12 mpgs @ 70 mph. IT has 124,000 miles on it and getting close to broke in LOL. bobby

With a cummins diesel I don't see why you couldn't pull a 3000RK. My buddy has a 1997 and it still pulls just as well as my truck. He has 250,000 and I only have 50,000 miles. Get a good brake controller. I am also a fan of prodigy brake controls. If you have a turn over hitch go with the B&W Companion Hitch.
Good Luck!
Phil

It'll "pull" fine...check the numbers for pin weight, GVWR and GCWR.
