Saving 'pink'
Anyone sucessfully tried to reclaim the pink antifreeze for later use when de-winterizing?
I blow out the lines and drain before using pink so little if any water in lines.

Never tried Illapah - cheap enough for me to let it hit the ground.

Not worth the trouble to try and save it.

Nope been dumping it on ground since '85. Still use the stuff to make sure my lines are not growing bateria during those long winter months. Still haven't figured out why I have two lines w/o the pink stuff. Purged the line back to a capped off future plumbing for outdoor shower, need to get rid of this line... Got two that feed from under skin to bathroom sink and back under skin...thats just odd.

Seems that it should not be much of a problem to recover, especially since the lo point drains could pour directly into a saved jug. I bend over to pick up a penny in the parking lot (even if it is to make sure I still can) so saving on the plus side of three bucks is a no brainer to me.
I would expect to have some loss.
Really wondering if the pink has a use life.

None that I know of Illapah - we use it in fire sprinkler systems and just check the concentration once a year. I've seen systems with 15 year old stuff you can't see through anymore still have adequate freeze protection.

I'll go with everyone else. It is certainly cheap enough and the hassel of trying to same it isn't worth the trouble.
Chuck,
As for the lines that are not pink, perhaps these are for the black tank clean flush fitting. One goes from the exterior hose fitting to the anti-siphon valve and the other between the anti-siphon valve to the fitting. If you haven't blown these out yet, I would do so before it gets any colder.

By saving $3 on a gallon of the pink stuff, will allow you to put another gallon of fuel into the truck. =) All adds up I guess......

I am extremely thrifty so I plan to collect mine when I drain. I also plan on using the trailer this winter. If all goes right I will collect the antifreeze and have it to rewinterize when I return.

Hmmm, Tom & Ken...Thanks I was worried about residual un-pinked water in both the city stub to pump and that black tank flush line. I used a shrader to hose fitting and hit them with about 40psi to be sure these were clear of water. I guess I better go recheck that antisiphon location where I saw liqiud previously...maybe its gone now? Didn't think all the line would be necessary to feed a black tank flush nozzle...geez.

I've been wondering the same thing. I plan to save mine, if it's reusable. I can't think of a reason not to.

I have re-used mine many times with no problems. As we like to camp in the winter, it can start to cost a little after winterizing 6 or more times.

Noneck, those lines to under the bathroom sink and then back out sound like the black tank flush. At the top of those lines should be a one-way valve (that's been known to fail). I assume the lines are located there to make that valve more easily replaceable. That's what it was in our 2003 Montana. I haven't checked this one.
