Here we come!

Bought our new Mountaineer 342 PHT on Saturday, 8/12. Tacoma RV says it is on the road and should be here mid week. Can't wait! We traded a 305S Terry bunkhouse. It was fine and we used it extensively for 4 years, but doesn't have much storage. We looked for a long time and got a great deal from Tacoma RV on the new Mountaineer.

We were considering the Hitchiker bunkhouse which is still not in production and decided not to wait any longer. The Mountaineer will suit us very well. We have 3 daughters, ages 24, 16, and 14. 24 year old is on her own and rarely comes along, but we still need dedicated space for the teenagers. They were NOT happy that we considered a unit without a bunkhouse for them. They love the Mountaineer so everyone is happy now.

This is a wonderful site. Really appreciate all the information available and the honest input.

See you on the road!

Hi Cheri, welcome to the forum. We have an 06 Mountaineer 319 BHD. It works out good for our family. My kids are small so we opted for the smaller bunkroom in the 319. Kids absolutely love having their own space. We absolutely love having a bunk room with a door that we can close off from the rest of the fiver. There is a lot of experience here and you will get tons of tips just by reading past posts. Let us know when you take delivery. Have a PDI check list in hand when you do your walkthrough. The list will keep you from forgetting things during all the excitement of your new rig.

Me, "outnumbered" by three red heads...my dear wife
& 2 DD's, plus Sam & Taylor the yellow camping labs.

Tacoma RV called and our Mountaineer is here! We have an appointment for Friday to go through it and pick it up. I have copies of ALL the PDIs I could find on this site so I think we are prepared. We really didn't go through our last 5er very thoroughly so this will be a different apporach.

There is soooo much great information on this forum. I know how much time it takes to respond to messages and to write up your own experiences. I appreciate all the efforts everyone has made because you have certainly helped DH and me! My DH is not a computer guy, but we look at the posts together and last night he was telling someone else what we had learned on MOC.

Thanks Everyone!
