Tow truck tire pressure monitoring.

Previous truck was a GM 2500 SRW, latest is 3500 DRW. The GM DRW trucks don't have tire pressure monitoring, I am informed Ram do, Ford don't.

So has anyone installed pressure monitoring to a DRW that didn't come that way from the manufacturer? I am informed by a Discount Tire manager that the external sensors on a DRW makes adjusting pressure a pain and can require removal of the wheels.

If this is feasible, then it becomes attractive to have a monitor that will advise pressures of the trucks six tires and the trailers four. I know monitors are available for 10 tires.

My RAM 3500 Dually has the tire Pressure Monitoring System built in. It works Perfect. Just had new Michelin Tires put on and I sat there and watched the dashboard as they aired the tires. Right on target!

I have the TST System with senors on all ten tires. Just added air to those inside duals is a real PITA.
