Spending quality time under my truck.
Not being a sports fan, I took advantage of the relatively nice weather today and installed a set of Firestone Ride Rite (model 2330) air helper springs under my 2001 F250. Since we have a 2002 3575RL with one of the heavier king ping weights in the Montana line, I wanted to do something to help out the rear suspension. When we pulled it home from N. Carolina to Illinois last November, we bottomed out the rear on a couple of the nastier bumps. On top of that, the Ford twin I beam front end tends to get a little squirrely when they squat in the back.
Once the weather gets better in late spring, I want to install one of the in-cab inflation controls.
The shocks are also pretty trashed (60,000 miles) so I'm also going to install a set of Rancho shocks that will also be in-cab adjustable. I have some high hopes that this will tame the ride a bit to be more enjoyable.
