Convertor

I was asked today where the convertor was mounted in our trailer, and realized that I didn't know. Where is it located on the 3400RL

It is cleverly hid up behind the fuse and breaker box. I suppose They did this installation to foil any possible theft....... Unfortunately, you have to pull the boxes, stand on a stool on one foot to even get a glimpse of the darn thing.
Rich had a service man call me because he wouldn't believe Rich, when he told them that they put it up there.
Sad, but true.

In other trailers I've owned, there were grills or other ways to allow air cirulation around the converters to allow them to cool effectively. Apparently this is not the case with the 3400. I hope this doesn't turn out to be another maintenance nightmare.

Ozz is correct on the location of the converter. The guys at RV lifestyles in Quartzsite that re wired our 3400 after our "isolated incident" would not believe me when I told them where it was.If you look up in the ceiling of the pantry/ W/D closet you will see a vent. Pull the plastic cover off and you can see the rear of the converter(sort of) Keystone says that is a vent for the converter..however hot air rises and the vent is lower than the converter. We are also informed by Keystone that that hot air vents into the camper roof and the camper roof is of course vented to the outside..The converter also has a fan. We installed a muffin fan in the vent hole in the pantry ceiling to aid in cooling on hot days for both the converter and the W/D. I think the venting for the converter is OK..The location however leaves much to be desired..
