Steps

We are on our maiden voyage with our 2021 Montana 3701LK. When preparing to travel, we fold up the steps to go inside the door, is there something that we are supposed to do to lock the steps in place, so that they don't push back on the door while we are going down the road? Thanks for your help. Pictures are appreciated.

Gail,

Welcome to the forum!

Our rig is a few years older, our steps just go up with no latch or anything to keep them up. Once the door is closed they are not going anywhere.

One of you could stay in the 5er and the other close the stairs. This will let you see how secure they are.

Mine don't have any way to "secure" in the up position. In 3 years, we've had absolutely no problems. The outer door or the steps themselves, have never been damaged by the steps ability to move a little while the trailer is in transit.

The only minor problem we've had the the steps, is when the outside door, or the screen door is not open all the way and the steps hit the edge of the door when lower them. We have a few scratch marks where the metal touch steps and door. So, just make sure your door is always swung back open all the way before raising or lowering the steps so nothing gets scratched up.

My original Morryde steps had a latch to hold closed but the ASSIST cylinder on the new trailer holds them up.
