Rate check
I received an email from my local insurance agent last week saying that she was seeing some lower rates coming in this spring for RVs, boats, ATVs, motorcycles, and other toys. She offered a rate comparison even though mine just renewed on March 1. Mine came back that the Nationwide policy I have is actually 28% less than the next closest brand she carries which is Progressive.
I realize there are a lot of factors that affect insurance rates, but it might be a good time to compare. It only takes a phone call or email.

We get an annual review on all our insurance needs. Sometimes, the "savings" of the premium does not outweigh the actual benefits of the service offered.

Just be sure your choice has a good claims payment history. According to JD Power, Nationwide ranks below average in that category. I have no personal experience with them so don’t know. The last thing you want to deal with after an incident is fighting your insurance company to get repairs paid for.

I have everything with State Farm including the Montana. I had a tire blow on BOTH sides of the rig last summer (at different times). $9600 damage. Insurance didn't even inspect it. They had the dealer send them photos. Paid everything except $500 deductible. I thought that was great.

I almost ripped off the rear cap of mine on tail swing hitting a steel column. State Farm paid over $14,000 without question. Don’t know if shop sent pictures or not. I didn’t. $500 deductible also.

I have had Allstate, for right around 50 years . They’d just about have to promise me free premiums before I’d switch insurance companies. I’ve compared , and talked to different people about what they had , cost etc etc .
Just got approved, took about three days , lost a few shingles , bad wind storm . No hesitation on their part . there’s no way you can match shingles , unless they been on for a short period. 34k to replace the entire roof .
About the only thing I’ve ever had them do was raise my comprehensive deductible , turned in two or three claims in a short period of time , raised it from $50 to $100 . I believe that lasted for a year or two then went back to $50 , had no claims.
I have everything with Allstate , home , auto , and RV.

I have almost everything with Auto Owners via an independent agent. My rates have not increased as others have spoken of the last 4 years.
I recently bought a new OHV and Auto Owners was high on that. She wrote me with Progressive because she has a lot of motorcycle and UTV / ATV owners on Progressive. Out of curiosity I checked my Montana on Progressive with the same coverage as my Auto Owners policy and fount Progressive to be about 20% higher on an annual policy.
Maybe could have saved some if I had multi-policy on Progressive as I do with Auto Owners, but I am not changing anything for the foreseeable future.

Just got our annual,Rv policies (for two 5ers) and our truck and auto. Vehicles increased about $60 monthly each, though we pay for 6 month policies. Two Rvs increased about 30% on the annual policies. Time to shop and compare. I have found that many companies do not insure Rvs for full time use. We presently have State Farm who saved us about 40% over Farmers. Progressive got too high many years ago. Any suggestions?
