Day 2 brought us to Council Road Park in Oklahoma City. On the way from Waco, we stopped at the Chikaswa National Recreation Area near Sulpher Spring for a walk along Travertine Creek. Sulpher Spring is known for its mineral and fresh water spring. As you enter the recreation area you can smell the rotten egg smell of the sulpher in the springs that flow freely in the park.
Today we are walking in the state capitol area of Oklahoma City. I guess it's fitting for Memeorial Day weekend to visit the site of the Oklahoma City bombing and the memorial to its victims.
Be safe on this holiday if you are traveling across our country.
