Splendide stackable. Works great. One caution don't dry rugs with rubber backs. This will result in dryer drum sticking and will friction burn through the drum belt. Major job to replace.

Can I ask why you would go vented? I am looking at putting one in our 2009 Montania mountaineer 345 DBQ. It’s “prepped” for it but I am nervous about having to put a hold in side of camper to vent.

Like you I was apprehensive on drilling the hole but ~~ hearing how the Unvented dry or don't dry and the condition of the wrinkles vented was the only way to go. After a vented combo we now have the separates, vented dryer of course, and that is the best way. Combos take forever per small load. Vented does a much better job.

Washer Dryer Questions
Hi we have a Montania Mountineer 345 DBQ that is prepped for washer dryer. My first question is vented or not vented? I am not crazy about putting a hole in side of camper but seems like vented works better. Is this a big job or expensive to get done? Could my husband do it himself?
Second question..what model washer dryer combo?
1. SPLENDIDE WASHER/DRYER - EXTRA CAPACITY - VENTED - WHITE - 72-8490
2. Equador Super Combo SK 4400 CV (was Sekido)

The vented uses warm air to dry the clothes just as a home dryer does. A non vented model heats the clothes causing the water in the cloths to evaporate. At the same time it flows in cold water to condense that water vapor back to liquid form to drain out. The cold water does not get on the clothes. Just causes the vapor to condense, collect with the cold water, and go out the drain. But that process takes time and a lot of extra water.

Walk around your 5er and count the holes already in the walls. Don't think one more small one will hurt. Go with the vented.

None. Where we host......most have washer and dryers for the hosts......if not...a short trip to the laundromat and 1 1/2 hours later.....3 loads of clothes are done. We value our space where the washer/dryer would be since we full-time.

If we keep the OP in mind then what WE drive or how far we have driven it doesn’t matter. He is obviously concerned about safely pulling his trailer and our answers should reflect that. You can argue all day if it is right or wrong but my answer will be:
A-This what you might get away with short term
and
B-This is the best truck to tow with
If you are considering less than B to replace A you should consider SAFETY above conienence in all but the most extreme circumstances!
Suggesting it is no big deal to buy a truck that does not perform it’s most demanding task with a good safety margin is irresponsible.
I suspect most folks would be better served to buy a duall strictly to tow and a small car as a daily driver. In the long term it would end up being less expensive I suspect as you save on fuel and the big expensive truck will last longer.

We have Splendide side by side in a 3720RL. They are not only convenient, but saves money. Using RV Park water and electricity, laundromat's charge anywhere between $1.50 - $3.75 per washer load, and 25 cents/5 minutes for dryer. Glad we have it! We have switched to a residential Samsung running on inverter. That also is the next best thing we upgraded to.

Splendide stackable set
We have the Splendide stackable set. In our limited experience so far, we're glad to have them. Extended stays with 2 younger children and a tween ... they're totally worth it. I'm still trying to optimize my settings on the dryer (enough dry time without going too hot).
Installation was not easy or fast. Drilling the hole in the side was a time-intensive chore for this rookie family and moving the units into their spaces was challenging for my husband and father (with a little help from me). Needless to say...there were a few unexpected scratches on the bottom of the interior cabinetry on the 1-week-old RV upon completion. Nevertheless, I'm happy overall and those scratches were covered up with Crayola colored pencils.
We have a pretty chrome vent to the outside that looks like it belongs (I hesitated when I saw chrome in the shopping bag....but it works!) To help others interested in this, we're in a 2018 High Country 362RD and the W/D are installed in the main living area cabinet/pantry (not the bedroom up front).

We have been full timing for 1 1/2 and have not found the need to a washer dryer. We like having the space in the RV and don't want to add to the extra weight of the rig. Besides, it is easy going to the laundromat, spending some time reading or meeting folks.

I'll chime in with a Splendide all in one, vented. Works great! Putting in storage in the other half the closet. Our 3811MS is ideal for this setup. Took me a month to decide and it's been none stop washing/drying for a month now. Small loads but time is on our side when full timing.
