Dave, 12 VDC is 12VDC wheather you have six 6 VDC batteries hooked together to make 12 VDC, there is still going to be only 2 wires at the end, one 12VDC pos and one 12VDC neg and they will hook to the same post that the original batteries were hooked too. the 12 VDC POS goes to the automatic reset fuse and the 12 VDC NEG goes to ground.

There was a reason, I know. I'll do a search. It was either rv.net or Escapees.

Dave,

The reason is so you have more power in reserve. Four batteries can store more reserve power than one or two. Four 200 Ah (Amp/Hour) batteries is 800 Ah instead of 200 Ah for one or 400 Ah for two.

Also, keep in mind that 6 Volt golf cart batteries have a higher Ah rating for each battery.

If you are not going to be boondocking, then the two supplied 12 Volt batteries should be sufficient. The single 12 Volt on our coach has been sufficient for our needs. When we get to go fulltime, I plan to change to two 6 Volt golf cart batteries as we'll be on the road more and may do some overnights at rest areas or Wally World.

Sue, We are very sorry to hear about your problem. We have been here at Quartzsite and I have not been keeping up on the forum as I should but we sure hope that everything is better now. See you in May at the rally.

Sue..so sorry to hear of your loss, you and Ed and your families will be in our prayers. Hang in there and hope the battery problem will be a quick fix. Hate it when things don't work right.
