The 2011 system injected diesel up stream from the DPF. That has long since been changed to inject it at the DPF, and to my knowledge has eliminated the problems experienced by folks like yourself. Some in your position have deleted the system altogether.

A retired GM employee suggesting a GM customer remove federally required equipment to solve a problem that GM can not fix.
I rest my case.

Guess I'll just drive my truck over a cliff and go buy a Dodge. I'm embarrassed to drive it after all these negative comments.

Steve, Don't do that. Realize we all make mistakes, and hopefully some will learn from those mistakes.
I just hope GM buyers realize the engine is a Isuzu/GM engine that was developed when GM realized they could not build a light duty diesel engine. Allison Transmission was sold off in 2007 when they realized it (GM) was going tits up to try and get cash to continue it's operations. That only delayed the inevitable.
When your production costs start $1900 more than the completion, due to Union Contracts, you have to cut corners and the buying public realizes that.
Enjoy your new truck that my tax dollars paid for.

Exactly my point.
I spent my working years on the service drive, talking to consumers of the product. I was not in some building in Michigan having Union Meetings.
I faced customers that had spent their hard earned dollars on a product that was flawed and after 18 years got tired of making excuses of the product flaws.
You can talk all you want about all the jobs that would "have been lost". They needed to go away. The unions got bailed out 100%. The hourly workers got about 30%.
Say what you want. You have drank from the Union Glass so long you have no clue as to the retail side of the business.
Respectively, we all have our opinions, but having stood on the drive, having to explain daily why the product was the way it was for years was just too much to continue lying to my customers.
I left GM Retail in '86, went to Nissan Retail Service Management and in '93 went to Toyota. I retired in '96.
My 2 children and their husband's drive 1-BMW, 3-Toyota'a. I drive a Honda and a Ram.

You were part of the very old Rodger Smith GM era which was an embarasing time for GM in terms of quality, However times have changed and I deal with quality and production issues every day building GM's large SUV's and I can tell ya you know nothing about GM's current state of the buisness.
Quality and customer satisfaction is our number one priority and while we are not perfect we do try very hard to build world class trucks and suv's.

Although it seems off topic now that this thread has taken a turn, but I logged onto the GM Canada website today and learned that my new 2015 was on the assembly line last week! It left Flint, Michigan a few days ago for the 18 day trip to Edmonton where it will be then transfered to my dealer. Woo hoo, camping season just got a little closer!
