I find it funny that y'all make it sound like they are built by two different comp's when there is not that much different in them at all both have the same so called wood in the cabinets & walls same plumbing & Elec. And most everything else. yes you do get the newer stove & convection microwave in the Montana but the fit and finish is all that much better than the HC I have worked on both them a long with SOB's and they are
built for full time living and warrantied for it. I think most of it is witch floor plane you like!

Have a Montana and just bought a new 2018 Montana HC 330RL. Pick it up next week and we full time. Had everything we wanted....level up system/fireplace/12 gallon water heater. and a floor plan we wanted.

We shopped and went to shows two years before making the decision to get our 3811ms legacy.
We are not full time yet, but 6ish weeks at a time when we are out.
We traded an Aviator Electra, another high end unit and wanted a quality unit.
HC's have much more plastic, faucets for example.
Getting a Legacy gets you solid cherry cabinet stiles, better suspension, power electric cord reel, fiberglass rear cap.
I really like the hydraulic slides and leveling

They are both great coaches. At different price points there is going to be differences. We compared them side by side and felt the Montana fit what we were looking for in terms of fit and finish.

You know I got kicked around pretty hard on here for stating the facts on tow vehicles in other threads! Yet it seems perfectly ok for the Montana owners to run down the High Country! Just sayin

As far as faucets go they will be found in the Montanas too. Just saying.

I had a friend now deceased who owned a very small RV dealership. I think he said it best. Campers are like people there isn’t much difference in after you skin them.

There are some nice features to the Legacy ~~ the paint is #1.
Hydraulic moves a little faster but ever heard of slide creep or a leak on electric? I can change a motor in 15 minutes if one ever goes bad.

Always have and always will. Helps justify the extra cost I guess.

The only thing I will say is that I would never own another trailer that has all cable slides after all the trouble I had on my previous all cable slide trailer. It was a bloody nightmare and every time someone posts here about trouble with their cables I can feel their pain and frustration.

A lot of new fivers have cable slides for their front slides including these premium campers Montana, DRV, and Landmark.

The coroner just officially called the horse dead and asked that we quit kicking it.

Maybe Montana ditched the cables? Our 2018 3791RD built 9/12/17 has 3 of 5 slides electric but not 1 of them is cable system. This is our 3rd Montana and never had electric slides. Sure hope they hold up as well as the hydraulic did.

I can't wait for a diesel pusher to show up while the Montana owners are bragging on how much more they spent on their units compared to the High Country owners!!!!!
But then when I pull my kayaks, motorcycle or jet ski out of the garage and go play who will be jealous then?
If they start making a basement garage floor plan in a higher trim package then come talk to me. I will be the first in line for it, especially if the garage is longer than the current TH models.

Momentum & Solitude makes one already and did so before the HC did and the finish's inside and out are at or above the Montana, price point is about 30 grand higher though... Almost bought one as that layout is the only one we would trade our 3790rd for.
The price point of the HC Toy hauler was right where our Montana 3790Rd came in so we jumped in the car and went and looked at them as soon as our local dealer got them on the lot, unfortunately we were not impressed with the finish's or amenities compared to ours or the Solitude & Momentum's of the same layout. It was at least 25grand less (Canadian) than either the Solitude at about 89grand and the momentum comes in around 99grand however we've grown accustom to the finish's and amenities in the Montana so we'll wait till a used Solitude/Momentum shows up or perhaps Montana (I hear they are coming out with one) starts building that layout. Couldn't justify shelling out 40grand (difference plus Canadian taxes) to haul the golf cart around to go to the Solitude right now.

Speedster,
We looked at the Grand Design first. But the garage was too short for us to carry some of our toys! Look at my thread "Improving 381 floor plan" in the notes to Keystone forum.
This is a true story: I am the guy who drew out the concept for Grand Design for the basement garage. I was at the Dallas show and got with a GD engineer who happened to be there. Unfortunately GD made their garage too short! The GD garage is only 9'8" where the High Country garage is a full 10' long. That extra few inches makes the difference in us being able to carry our kayaks and jet ski as opposed to just a motorcycle. I tried and tried to get GD to see the light but they had blinders on so I talked to the engineers at Keystone and a couple other mfgs. and Keystone took my advice and built their unit with a slightly longer garage. That in short is why I own the Keystone right now. If GD had extended their garage I would have bought one of those in a heartbeat as the finish is superior and they do have more amenities. I will say one thing though. The lack of a slide in the middle of our outside awnings and the fact that the HC has TWO awnings is a wonderful thing for those of us who like to spend a lot of time sitting under same! So that and the longer garage is a big plus on the Keystone. What I hope is that eventually someone will build a very high end coach with a basement garage that goes all the way from the rear to the front of the unit!!! That would allow us to carry the motorcycle AND the jet ski at the same time (can you say Florida here we come)!!! And no I don't care if that would require a larger tow vehicle and perhaps a CDL! For those of us who are still young enough at heart to enjoy the toys but want the comfort of a large floor plan these basement garage units are a great choice!
I am with you though, IF they start building a Montana version of the same floor plan and provided it still has the full 10' garage, then our next unit would be a Montana. But if there are any Montana designers monitoring this forum: PLEASE MAKE THE GARAGE EVEN LONGER!

I am seeing that a garage is becoming more and more important to a large segment of RV buyers. I for one do not need that as I don't hall arround ATVs or kayaks. But that being said Keystone take note there is a market for a high end toyholler type rig. Common Keystone grab a glove and get into the game.
