Lets put this in perspective, Yes a 3/4 ton srw will haul a 15000 lb trailer fine. But compared to a dually it is like this..... Put 5 people into a Toyota Corolla, yep they get down the road just fine and will get to their destination. Now put those 5 people into say a Chrysler 300, yep they also get to their destination but the ride, handling, and comfort is way better. Bigger is always better.....maybe its a Texas thing...lol lol lol

Guys, argue all you want, but he's already ordered the truck.

Another thing that will end a TV "discussion" is to ask somebody driving a 250/2500 truck what his load capacity is as listed on the Tire and Loading information sticker. Normally, there will be no response.

Tom, not always true as you may get the "Pulls Great" response, especially if you're on RV.Net

I did notice the 12 speed 2500 Ram guy did not list any weights. Plus, does he not realize Ram uses a de-rated engine in the standard shift trucks? Maybe why he had to put in a 12 speed. For what that cost he could have gotten a Aisin with the big motor.

Congratulations on your choice of a new vehicle. I have always been partial to GM in fact the last Ford we had was a 1966 Style Side F150 pick-up.
The fuel mileage is much better with the 6.6 Duramax six speed than the 8.1 gas engine was when towing. The diesel is a lot better when empty. We use our C5500 two ton as a TV for our Montana and I also have a 16-foot dump trailer that I pull quite often.
Our regular transportation is the wife’s car and I have a ¾ ton pick-up.
Moral of the story is; bar no expense when doing Honey-Do’s and you will have no difficulties with the DW when you want a bigger truck…

I don't know if its the same all over but I have used our local Shell touchless automatic wash for both my 90 gmc dually long box and now the 15 Silverado dually long box. Its close but fits fine unless you also have a bumper pull type ball mount and forget to take it out. I would do it by hand but sooo big.
