Dick-
Most of what you say at the top of this page is true about gasoline, diesel and all other liquid hydrocarbons. I have seen the same e-mail floating around that you posted above stating which companies are importing Middle East oil. There is some truth to this but the section that separates Conoco and Phillips is not. I worked for Phillips Pet. Co. for 35 years and retired just before the joint venture that combined Conoco and Phillips in 2002.
I worked in the largest refinery that Phillips possesses. The truth is this refinery had a contract with PDVSA (the national oil company for Venezuela) on a joint venture for a decoking unit that came on line in 2000. Charge rate for this unit was ~225K bbl/day and it all was imported from Venezuela. It was a heavy sour type crude with API gravity of less than 10, had to be heated for transport in order to be liquid. Before the joint venture the Conoco refinery in Lake Charles, La. had the same basic type situation with PDVSA.
A couple years ago Chavez booted not only Conoco/Phillips out of his county but also Exxon. Currently there are very complex international law suits between these companies and Venezuela trying to recover compensation for the assets they had to leave behind. As far as I am concerned there is no difference between Venezuela and the Middle East. They all belong to OPEC and control the world's supply of crude oil.
There is no association of BP and Phillips together. The only venture between Phillips and BP that I can remember is when BP and ARCO combined in the early 90's BP had to sell a large portion of their holdings on the Alaskan North Slope and Phillips stepped in an bought this so the federal government would approve the deal and not violate any anti-trust laws. It was profitable for both companies.
By the way, I filled up with diesel this morning for $4.07. I do not receive any special considerations as a retired oil company employee.

Well, Seward is still rising fast. As of yesterday, diesel is $4.81 a gallon. I give it 10 days to hit $5.00/gl and by the end of tourist season in September, I expect it will be close to $6.00/gl.

Diesel by me actually dropped about .10/gal. The highest is still 441.9 with the cheapest 419.9. The price drop was from 439.9 down to 429.9. The highs and lows stayed the same. There are still some at 425.9 as well. At least they didn't go up but like the weather it could change any minute. Gas prices have been going up to 379.9 down to 369.9.

I am in Charleston, the section where my son lives has several stations near the campgrounds that always have diesel at cheaper prices, always the same as Walmart. I filled up when I got here thinking it would not go down, bought at 3.999, well one of the stations the next day, a Hess lowered to 3.979. They must have heard that I had just filled up, 75 gallons.
It has become a game of finding the cheapest price.

We had to pay 4.349 for diesel today, That is like 175.00 per tank. I am embarrassed, shocked and angry to say that we can not afford to move the truck at those prices. Oil and gas increased to new highs on the commodities market today. This is serious folks. The Honda is doing double duty..

I was thrilled today when I found diesel at $3.92 a gallon. I can't believe it even when I see it in black and white but it only took me $114. to fill up. This is unbelievable! All of the oil companies keep reporting record income and we have to work second jobs to travel. ARGH!

You guys have a maid out there. Here on Long Island the cheapest diesel is $4.59.
I canceled all out of state trips. I will try to go locally, but there is a lot more
people that think the same way and it will be hard to get any spot at the local CG.

That's a great price (lol). Now I can plan a trip to Denver to see my son and grandkids, also my daughter-in-law. Oh yea, we already are. We're flying out in June and using up my frequent flyer miles.

Holy Moley..We just put 50.00 worth of fuel in a HONDA (3.779) per gallon. Diesel is now 4.349 in our little part of Ohio but not to worry nothing will stop us from rv'ing.. Life is too short, We worked long and hard for this,You never know what may happen (I am running out of clichés) There are many ways to find the money for fuel..Tap into the kiddies education fund....'They don't need no ed u ca tion"
Cash in a CD..never mind the penalty..you never know what may happen.. Borrow on your 401K or take out a home equity loan. Use that savings account,,this is no time to save..enjoy yourself.According to the Tv this AM food has increased over 20% in the last few months..so what?? Eat less..Rv more...Am I going to let 43.50 per 100 miles of fuel towing stop me....will I let @ 300$ worh of diesel sop me from going to the MOC rally in Pa..heck no..what do I care.Nothing will stop us from pulling that 3400 anchor....

Chuck
ps when I saw the 3.99 I decided to take 2 35 gal aux tanks now we'll carry appox 105 gal

Diesel is holding at 419.9-441.9 but reg just shot up to 389.9. I guess the good thing is that the dollar difference between diesel and regular is much smaller than last month.

Diesel took a jump here in Omaha from $4.059 to a record $4.249 so far!! I did go across the river to Council Bluffs to make a visit to Camping World and saw it was $4.119, so I topped the tank off and it still cost me nearly $50. I may be looking for something else to drive and leave the Duramax/Allison sit for awhile and use it only for towing the Monte! I can always sell the old truck I buy later for salvage steel because it's running $9.00 a hundred around here right now! The dummies in Washington had better get their s--t together or they won't have any of the truckers or railroads hauling anything and then what are they going to do for their hotsy-totsy parties and election celebrations! OK, I'm off my soapbox!!

I have a picture I'd like to insert but can't figure out how -- don't want it in the signature -- it is one that I saw years ago and kept -- who ever did it must have had a crystal ball of what we'll be using the the future.
Found the instructions so here is the image:
Sorry for the size, I thought I had cut it down enough but it is still large
