Daughter at Merritt Is,Fl said the 4 gas stations she tried last eve were closed, signs saying "out of gas".She expected to top off her tank early this morn. Here's the latest from CNN.Prices are starting to affect ppl....tho I don't know if it's true in camping. Some neighbors are car pooling to grocery,a son in law has parked his pick up & a friend will stay with family during the wk, rather than driving a long daily commute. An Ohio patrolman said they'd seen the least number of out of state license plates on the highway,of any holiday in many yrs.

Dsprik, I filled a propane tank yesterday at the service station that gives a break to those staying at this RV Park. His normal price is $2.00/gal. Those staying in Red Rock RV Park pay $1.75/gal. Cost me 12.25 to fill the tank. That's the least I've paid in at least a year. This is in Island Park, ID.
The same station sells diesel for $2.999 but during Labor Day Weekend is discounting that by ten cents per gallon for cash purchases.

Diesel increased 40 cents per gallon here today. $3.099 this morning, $3.499 this evening. Is this big of a single day increase occurring elsewhere?

Well for those of you planning a trip to Alaska this next summer, I will be posting the current price of both gasoline and diesel fuel here in Fairbanks on my website (see the link in my signature).
Anchorage prices usually run .10 cents cheaper per gallon - or they have in the past at least - and I can't speak for the prices in Canada, but at least you can get a rough idea of what prices for fuel will be here!

Not here, at least not yet, Don. Diesel has been running below $3 at about $2.97. I believe for a change we are low compared to the rest of the country, but over $100 to fill our tank is not low to us.

Glenn: I don't know what part of Indiana you're in. We live in northwest IN by Hammond. We take I-65 to Montgomery, AL, then 231 from there to Marianna, FL, east to route 19 and follow it south to get to Ft. Myers. Keeps us off I-75 in January and Feb. when everybody is going to FL.

We saw diesel in Eureka, CA for $3.29 on Wednesday. On Thursday, it was $3.55 per gallon. We bought some on Hwy 20 near Clear Lake for a bargain, $3.09. Maybe they hadn't read the news yet.

Diesel at Flying J in El Paso went from 2.39 last night to 2.99 today. I think it is going up all over and if you see any at under 3.00 you had better top off the tank. I also noticed that some of the truckers and others are driving a little slower!!

So far we have been able to find deisel for just under $3.00 but when we leave here tomorrow (in the middle of nowhere in Utah) we will have to fill up for $3.15 unless of course they raise ot overnight. We about 90 miles from the Great Basin National Park and will spend some time there tomorrow, then travel Hwy 50 (named the lonelist road) to the rally.

Well right after Don (Searchers) told of the 40-cent-per-gallon increase in diesel fuel No CA, we in So OR had a 20-cent-per-gallon increase in one day. It is running about $3.19 per gallon here. Regular is still $2.99.

Diesel here in N Alabama is $3.399. Some of the stations can't get their tanks refilled. Looks like it may go higher.

Here in North Texas Regular gas runs from 2.84 to 2.99. Diesel is 2.76 to 3.35.
WalMart was out of Diesel for a couple of days. Their price is the 2.76. I use the Walmart card and get 0.3 cents off per gallon so every little bit helps.
TXU our Texas Electric company asked for a 25% increase yesterday. With gas and oil prices climbing I guess everything will have an increase.
