I bought the Tire Minder years ago. Not happy with that system at all. Too many false signals , batteries in the part that screws on the valve stem rattle around then you get no signal. Very aggravating! Would not recommend !!

Chapman, I would agree 100%, good travel friends had a tire totally shred and their Tire Minder still showed good pressure with no tire left.

We have EEZ Tpms4 and love it. We had one slow leak that it caught before it went flat and allowed us to safely get repaired in town and not on the roadside. We did get the repeater as our rig is 40’

TireTraker 500 with the optional booster. Recently, saved us from driving away from the tire place with 4 new tires inflated to 90 instead of the 110 I'd requested.

We just put a Tire Minder TM-77 on two weeks ago and I love it. Like it so much I'm going to expand it with more tire sensors for the tow vehicle.

I've had three different systems.
Hawkshead - from Camping Word. Hard to set up and prone to signal loss and false alarms.
SmartTire - I had two external antennas less that 5 feet from the rear tires and the main antenna between the fronts. Lost signals all the time. I couldn't wait to get rid of that turkey.
EEZRV - Easy to set up, reliable, replaceable batteries, never a lost signal. 10 tires and a total length of over 48 feet. It has picked up a signal from our Towed more than 100 feet from the receiver. (We are ex. Montana people and now have a 36' diesel pusher and tow a Honda CR-V)

Have had 3 different brands on three different trailers. Most recent (TST) has been the best. With a 8ft bed I had to install the repeater, I did so under the back bumped, clipped into the tail lights. This made for some interesting moments when it would stop working then start for no apparent reason. This was my fault, if you connect to the tail lights you need to make sure they are on. My truck turns them off during the day if I leave the switch in Auto.

I wired my repeater directly to one of my two batteries at the front of the RV. When I go to store my trailer, I just pull out the fuse for the repeater so there is no battery drain.

We have been setting for a couple of months and time for a psi check of truck and RV. Plug in the TST wait for the readings and take action if necessary never broke a sweat.

Does the TST system work on the Tow Vehicle when the trailer is not being pulled? GM does not have a tire pressure monitoring system on the 3500 Silverado-guess it’s not required on trucks over 3/4 ton.
Thus, I would like a system that will also monitor the truck.

432Bartman, I wired our repeater in the front compartment as you stated too. Instead of pulling the fuse, I added a knife style battery disconnect on the battery compartment negative terminal, so when in storage I can just pull the disconnect and shut down everything. The convenience center disconnect doesn't kill power completely and the turn style disconnect is just for the inverter to our fridge.

The TST 507 saved us at the end of June when the 5th wheel passenger side front tire picked up a lag bolt. I would not get the flow thru sensors. You will have to take the sensor off to add air so what's the point in it? BTW I know this because I have the flow thru sensors.

The answer is yes, which is great if a Dually as a flat on an inboard tire isn't easily visible, plus it can be programmed for additional trailers.

Glad to hear most of you have TST 507! A note about the color monitor. The early ones were difficult to see in bright sunlight, but there have been two updates on them and they are much more visible in direct sunlight with current models.

We have the tire minder. It all seems to be working well. Pressures correlate to my manual tire pressure gauge. No lost signals. I opted for the black and white monitor since I don't want to look at it much anyway. On occasion I'll hit the button and check all the temps and pressures then tuck it away. The receiver lasts a long time on a charge.

I keep my fifth wheel plugged in 24/7, have never had to worry about batteries other then checking the fluid periodically. What I did was wire in a simple 12 volt switch to the repeater, mounted too the wall in battery compartment.
