Is the Good Sam Mail service the one that used to be known as something like American Homebase? It was in Pensacola, also.

Anyone who uses USPS temporary forwarding and has no trouble is extremely lucky, we have been battling it for over 4 years. Mail forwarded to us in care of our SKP mail service is addressed to Escapees, Texas not Livingston. They are supposed to only send mail addressed to MacLeod and we get mail for MacLeod-Torres, some of our mail goes to the old address and some to the new.

The USPS temp forwarding does work IF you can find the proper paperwork, fill it out properly and find someone at your local post office or a post office that really knows how to fill out the paperwork. DO NOT do it online. If you move from place to place USPS can be very difficult to make work right. We are in one place this winter and after much homework finding out exactly how to fill out the paperwork we are having no problems at all. We joined up Escapees and will use that mail service if we do not stay in one place all winter.

Rich,
We have had the proper paperwork, filled it out properly, even had a postmaster fill it out and the USPS still messed it up. If all of your mail is getting to you then you are fortunate. I think after dealing with them for 4 years I can say their service is pathetic.

St. Brendan's Isle in Jacksonville Fla does our mail very well. They take out all the junk and only send the important stuff. They can also help you become a Florida resident if you care to.

I have had my forwarded mail thru USPS returned to sender with "MAIL STOPPED AT RECIPENT'S REQUEST" What???? We are forwarding to our daughter and most of it goes fine. I think. The biller that got the mail stopped notice had our cell number so they called us. Others wouldn't have it, but if they did, they would call our home number which is on vacation mode which gives callers our cell number.
Next year, since we have decided with the cost of fuel we will stay in one place, so we will get a PO box in town and just forward to it. We tried General Delivery but it always involves a long wait in line.
