We bought the Winegard roadtrip which is a low profile (12") tall dome. We mounted it right in the middle between the kitchen vent and bath area vents. Overall, the height is less than our front AC at 13' 3".

Brad, If you are going to use your HD/DVR receiver, how are you going to get around the fact that it has to be plugged into a phone line My HD/DVR receiver has to be plugged into the phone line, but the HD receivers do not have to be plugged into the phone line.

jretz, nice photos. I take it that you are using a one tuner receiver with one coax into the Monte

We have HDTV and don't have a phone line hooked to it. However I wonder is the Winguard bismeaton installed have the ability to pick-up HDTV. We went to get a Winguard while we were in Mesa Arizona in Jan and was told it wouldn't get HDTV, but would be available in late Febuary or Mar.... We wouldn't want to go back to Anolog Tv. I just wanted the the ablility hook onto the correct satellite atuomaticallly. Oh well just getting lazy, and you have to be able to see the Southern sky, no trees blocking the Satellite. GBY..

DONnANNIE,
Yes I am using the Dish network 625 So I only need one coax into the Montana, I just have to combine the 2 inputs off the dish before running it into the Montana. I have been looking at the HD setup but I am not sure, due to coast and available channels, if it would be worth it to change over at this time. Most of the Dish programing I watch is not in HD and the local channels that are I use the regular antenna.

Don -
I don't know the impact of not having a phone line other than it must be administrative rather than technical. If I have a problem, I'll have to pay the $5.00 charge for using it without telephone.
Delaine & Lindy -
This is the info from Winegard:
QUESTION:
Can I receive HDTV on my Winegard satellite dish?
ANSWER:
For Dish Network customers the answer is, YES! Dish Network and DirecTV both use the 110° satellite for HDTV programming. However, DirecTV requires a special LNBF that will not work with your Winegard satellite to receive this programming. Dish Network uses the LNBF for their HDTV programming, this LNBF comes with the Winegard dish.
I'm assuming this is still correct. Dish has added a third satellite and has changed format - so I guess I'll find out. All else fails, I'll just get a dedicated dual tuner standard receiver. BTW, you wouldn't be going back to "analog" TV, as satellite has always been "digital". HD is just a better version of digital. Analog TV is what you receive on the standard antenna for those stations not transmitting in HD. These are the ones that go away very soon.

Brad I think you are correct there. I think that the requirement has to do with the Pay Per View. Any PPV shows are reported via the phone line each day when programming is updated.

We have the King Dome and direct TV. We do not have a phone hooked up. The one problem if you only use the receiver occasionally, you need to call them to do some fine tuning which the phone enables them to do automatically. So, if it has been a month or more since we used the coach, we just call Direct tv and they push some buttons and my satelite tv will work. We love the King Dome. We have been parked under trees and behind mountains and we still have been able to get our satelite.
