It's not just RV's
Heat index over 110 today. We have two full sized AC units, insulating pillows in our vent openings, smoked outside on white inside for our shower skylight, slide toppers, window awnings and foam board in some windows and still we lost about 3 degrees today. But, since I have to deal with a lot more AC issues at the store, the folks at PT were all wanting advise on how to help their AC in their sticks and bricks. Most were a lot more behind than us so I gave them some simple ideas to help and came home glad ours was as good as it is.

Extremes here. Last night in LaPine, Oregon it got down to 22.6f. Didn't know it was going anywhere near that...last I heard was 37f. Didn't unhook water hose and got hose ice all the way to where it entered the monte. 50f today and towed to Diamond Lake RV park. What a jewel this place is. Real close to Crater Lake, nice pullthroughs in a fir forest, but easy to get into and move monte. So as we set up, we have a brief period of snow flurry even though it was 49f outside. You know that situation where you ask yourself "is this soft rain?" But no, it was snow that melted as soon as it landed on you. Tonight I will unhook and drain the water hose. Enjoy the heat dick! John

Southwest MO with heat index at 105+. A/C hanging in there keeping it cool. Sucking enough moisture out of the air that I have enough water coming off of the roof to shower. Well, not quite. But plenty.

It's strange you go RVing and you think the weather everywhere is like the weather you see where you are. When I go to Wyoming in August and there is frost it don't occur to me it's 85 at home.

35* this morning, 77* this afternoon. We use the wheels to control the inside temperature, for the most part. Try it you'll like it.

Doesn't work real well when you just had a knee replaced and have to stay in the heat for PT and doctors visits But the theory is a good one.

Sounds like to me all you snowbirds should have just stayed in Florida. its in the 90's with 100% humidity and heat index in to the 100's but its not just the heat/humidity, the sun is directly overhead and man dose it burn, not only you but but the paint and surfaces on everything not under a cover.

We've only hit 90 - 91 so far this year. Going to Montreal, Quebec City and New Brunswick for July. Went to Michigan three years back and it hit 95 in Port Huron, so I'm figuring we'll probably see the same up north!

Buy or borrow a IR thermometer and shoot the temps on your gel coat in the sun on these pretty Big Skys or those with full body paint. Shoot the temps om your inside walls you will know why the A/C's can not keep up.

And I hope you stay there in winter, too. Then you can complain about the freezing temps as us lower 48 bask in our winter warmer and tolerable climates. Almost nowhere you can live and things are right. Either too cold or too hot. Whatcha gonna do? I'll just freeze or perspire.

Actually we'll go to the high plains of New Mexico to get our cold fix this winter, but here in Kansas the extreme heat in summer (and this is early this year) and the extreme cold and wind in winter are important to us. With the beautiful spring and fall weather we have, if it wasn't for summer and winter, rich folks would buy up all the land and run us off

Spring and Summer is good here in Northern Ohio 100 degree days do happen once in awhile but are not common. We do get some high high humidity days in late July and August but not many. Winter can be brutal very cold and lots of snow which is why we split our time between Florida and Northern Ohio were we enjoy eternal spring and summer.
