Campgrounds around South Grand Canyon?
Any suggestions for campgrounds around or near the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in AZ? Getting ready to head out for our trip back to NE and would like to visit the South Rim if the weather permits. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I think your options are the RV Park in the national park or in Williams. The Park was sold out when we were there for the larger sites. So we stayed in Williams at The Grand Canyon Railway RV park. Took the train to the big ditch.

Yes, what Sierra 117 said. And you'll love the train ride!

I searched and Trailer Village is just inside the park and has full hookups. Haven't stayed there tho.

Trailer village. Good hookups and most convenient as the free shuttle picks up in the park and takes you everywhere on the south rim. Stayed 2 days longer than planned. Were snowed on one nite late April. Fun. Most interesting.

Trailer Village is great. Were there in mid-September and there were Elk and Mule Deer everywhere in the campgound.

We just stayed at the Railside RV Ranch in Williams ( http://railsiderv.com/ )this past Friday-Sunday. It's about a 1 hour drive to the Grand Canyon. Very nice managers there. You can see/hear the trains come by from your RV. No train horns after 8PM. Nice & quiet at night. Wide spots and full hook ups. Wi-Fi is good and also has cable TV included in the lot rent.Recommended.

Thanks to all that have responded! We had to change our plans and head back to Nebraska a little earlier than we wanted. We will keep this post and the responses and will hope to make the South Rim of the Grand Canyon next year and hope we don't run into snow while we're there too! LOL
