Composting toilets
I think the light switch has been turned on for me. Watch this video (From "Gone with the Wynn's)
There are just way, way too many downsides to the traditional RV toilet I have decided, as compared to the composting toilet. I'm tired of the black tank issues, the water use, the smell, the dumping and just look how many postings on this forum concerning how to care for a black tank and all that comes with it. Not to mention the floods and leaky toilets we read about.
Watch this video and share your thoughts...

Getting 2-3 weeks of storage for solids is great for boondocking. But having to dump the liquid every 2-3 days isn't.

Can't you hook that section into your regular sewer system?

I guess we all have our torments with the RV lifestyle ... after 19 years of owning some fashion of an RV, I've not come close to reaching the point of throwing up my hands and mothballing the crapper in my RV. About the worst experience in this area I ever had was punching my finger thru some single ply TP. Not to dis your post ... just sayin ....

We're over ten years in our Montana's and haven't even thought about another option. We do a lot of boondocking and as long as we get to someplace in 8-10 days, we're fine. By then we need water, anyway. Even here in the Yukon, we're never far from a dumpsite. We just make sure that we camp somewhere once a week that has water, sewer and electric. Besides, it's the only place up here to do our electronic communication.

We have boating friends that took their Marine head out and put in the Airhead brand. They love it, but to me it did definitely had odor issues, we left our marine head in our boat. The one that the Wynn's have may be better . Just like all this stuff, designs improve, get better. We may consider it if we were more than part-timing.
