You don't mention when you're doing this but right now the best/safest way is to avoid the Rockies.... Head south to I-40 or I-10. If you can't do that, stay on the Interstates since they are the most maintained and traveled routes with the most availability for help and services.
You don't mention how experienced you are with locations and times of year you've towed, or say where you start or your endpoint or timeframe, so my advice will certainly add a lot of miles and days if you head south. You don't say what year of 3400RL, but as long as ALL weight ratings are maintained, that's the best you can do. Keep under the speed ratings of your tires will help, too.
So far this is a cold wet winter so be careful out there. If you don't head southbound you might need chains for some routes like in some parts of I-80 and this would slow you way down anyway (about 30mph max?).
