Rotating Sewer Boom
Do you use your rotating sewer boom? The boom on my 2011 3580RL Big Sky will only swing out about 90 degree from the rig. Most RV parks have the sewer hookups in the rear of the space and the boom would have to do a 180 degree swing to be pointed at the park sewer hookup.

I never worked too well for us on the Montana and even less on our SOB. Plus when we had the Level-Up added to the Monty the bracket for the swing arm was in the way and had to be removed anyway. A nice idea, just didn't work for us.

We like ours especially after I installed a longer tube to fir my 15' hose. Ours has a swing of about 160deg a friend with a 2012 Montana was surprised to see the swing on ours, his like yours only swings 90 deg. When we looked at the difference we saw that the outlet pipe was moved back about 6" compared to mine and that caused his to stop at 90.

Mine also swings about 160 degrees. I added a longer boom on Wednsday. Now all of my Rhino fits in the boom. New boom is also white and looks much better.

I don't like to use mine for the intended purpose, but I did put a longer tube on it and store an extra rhino hose.

On this campout we had to swing it back nearly parallel with the camper. It would not stay there and we had to tie it off to one on the level up legs.I do not like that there is nowhere to store extra hose.

Find the thread to "Coop's Poop Chute" and you will see how a real functional modification can work for the user. Now there are those that like to crawl under their unit and get crap all over so don't begrudge them that pleasure.

We used the sewer boom for the first year, I removed it after the low cost latch broke and installed a pair of the fence post hose storage holders that I saw at Quartzsite on Carl & Susan's old rig, and others had them, they work out so well, I carry a pair of connected 10' hoses in each, we don't miss the boom, just my opinion, Ron

So far the boom itself has worked well.My guess it will work in 95% of all applications.(with a lot of extra hose)that we will keep it or not is still being evaluated.
