X Factor upgrade
Thinking of doing this. Read previous posts. Looking for current opinions and advice. If I do this, how many are recommended? Will one be ok? I'm not full timing, I go on short trips (1 to 4 weeks).

MORryde is offering a 10% discount on parts, as a Rally special, should you decide on X factor.

Steve,
I installed only one X-factor on the center spring hanger. Seems to me that that one takes the most flex when turning. So far, works like a champ. Might come back later and add the X-factor to the other spring hangers.

I have one on my center morryde support. I had a welding shop weld caps and gussets on each of my spring hangers after finding one broke.
I believe the problem is related to the stress from tight "U" turns put on the wheels and axles instead of the miles traveled. The broken spring hanger was on noticed until I had the trailer jacked up to adjust the brakes.
Good luck.

On our 3750, there was a recall where the dealer installed a single X-Factor support beam on the center supports. Now, with that said, I am not sure if this design came from the "Amish" engineers, but I can state that it has been sufficient to date. I also believe that the 3750 is one of the heavier rated rigs so if that can be taken for confirmation of the center support being the only one needed, then for your use, my opinion is that a single support should suffice.

We have one installed in the center and it seems to work well. Don't know if I need to or will ever install the other 2.

Thanks for all the info...looks like I'll install the center one and see how it goes. You folks are the best, thanks again.

A couple of months ago I had my 3580RL Big Sky at the dealers for final waranty work at the end of my 1st year. While there I had them install all 3 of the X-Factor braces. I did not want to worry about tight turns doing any damage to the RV. I think it was a good investment when you look at the price of the RV and the cost of repairs after any damage is done.

Thanks Frank. I'll give that some thought. There doesn't seem to be any downside to all 3.

Frank, how much did it set you back to have all 3?

bighornram,
As stated above I had the Big Sky at the dealers doing waranty work and had the X-Factor braces done by them. The three braces were $165 ea. and the labor was $235 for a total of $735. I could have saved about $130 by taking the RV to another trailer repair shop but that would have taken half a day to drive the RV to the other shop and another half a day to go get it and bring it home. Did not feel like taking that much driving time and fuel to save $130. Sorry it took so long to get back to you.
