Water pressure problem
The heat and drought and to a certain extent Zebra Mussels have take their toll on the City's water supply (where the Corps gets their water from). The 50amp site they let us move to has great electricity, but it's about as high as the stem on the City's water tower and since that's about where the water is we are only getting a trickle. The trickle is fine unless we want to shower or wash clothes so I'm filling our fresh tank and then I'll use the pump. My question is (I'm lazy ), is it necessary to shut off the outside water when you turn on the pump?

No need to Dick. When an area of low pressure we leave the pump on and then it kicks in as needed.

Dick,
I have been in a couple of situations where the water pressure was low. So I turned the pump on and the water pressure increased. I left the outside water on.
I can't answer exactly what happens. But I know the water pressure was better.
