It may be my imagination or just dumb luck.
This has been my first trip out after dumping the Marathons and putting on BFG LT tires. But when I towed it with the Marathons on an Interstate everything got bounced around and we broke several coffee cups and plates and the frig was jumbled. Now after a hundred mile trip on Texas back roads with the LT's doin 65-70 mph and now nothing is out of place. The only thing was the drawer under the frig slid open a couple of inches. Could LT tires be more forgiving then ST tires on the bumps. I am still going to have the EZ Flex put on but for now if it rides like this it should be good. But then too it coulda just been dumb luck..

Joyce and I both swear that our rig rides and pulls better with the 614's than it did with the Marathons. Might be mental, but who cares, we feel better.

Yeah I think they were balanced and brand new only a year old on the dates..at least they had wheel weights lol lol....I don't know I do think the LT tires smooth out the bumps some, didn't seem like the trailer was bouncing as much on the bumps.

Well, maybe no one else will say this but if you slow down about 10 mph, you may get even less stuff flying around. Experience is the teacher.

Nope, my trailers all must be able to do the speed limit. If a trailer can't do the speed limit because of tires or suspension it has no business being on the hwy. Besides 5 more mph won't make a hill a beans in the difference of how my trailer handles. I am traveling over the same roads that my previous trailer did at the same speeds as my previous trailer. On it stuff stayed put and in 4 years we never broke a dish or cup. With the Montana the trip from Dallas to home we broke a bunch and the frig was a wreck. Both trailers have the same layout with rear kitchens. I was just tickled on this trip so far stuff stayed in place like it should and like it did with the old trailer. I am hoping it has to do a lot with the tires but have never seen anything said about the ride difference of ST or LT tires, if there is a difference. But then too I am now fully loaded and have a half a tank of fresh water on where before I only had her bout half loaded. I have been down these same roads many times.

The trailer and tires may be able to do the speed limit but I would venture to say that driving 60 to 62 MPH has more to do with the ability to stop the rig in an emergency. I can drive as fast as I want to but I'm more concerned with reaction time and stopping distance than getting to my destination 15 minutes sooner. Remember that the roads are full of idiots who aren't paying proper attention to driving.

When I dumped the Missions and put on Firestone Transforce tires I could tell a difference in the pulling.

Sorta joining the hijacking of the thread here ... I'm a 63 mph kind a guy myself. Best fuel mileage speed for me as well as loosing the stopwatch a few years back. LOL

G614s do seem smoother. I was pressured 35 years by customers to rush, rush, rush. I am retired , relaxing and enjoying the smell of the flowers. 55-62 , I find safer, smoother, more relaxing and where I get best fuel mileage. We are really enjoying our travels. Life is good! JMHO Larry

80mph with a trailer!!! lol lol I like to cruise along but 80 with a trailer ain't happen lol... My 300 has done that speed limit but no, I normally set the cruise at 65 which is the sweet spot for my truck too. Now there have been times it has clipped along at 70 but not often. And yes here in Texas it is safe. It's not like traveling in Pa. or Mi. or NY. Our roads are wider and in better shape and oh yeah flat with no curves so you can see miles ahead. But no I normally do 65 mph and the trailer should not bounce like a basketball. I still think the tires made a difference in the ride of the trailer.

I hope a posted speed limit doesn't mean that we are all expected to drive at that rate. I believe the speed limit on some OK Interstates is still 75. No way I am going that fast with one of these things! I agree with others on this post by saying that most of my life I have rushed from place to place but now not so much. The whole reason for this RV experience (for me) is to slow down and experience what I've missed for so many years. Of course doing so without going dangerously slow.
