Door Lock
DW went out to the RV, put the key into the bottom lock, turned it, and the entire tumbler fell out. She is not sure if there were other parts the flew out of the opening. We could not find anything on the ground, but it is gravel and hard to find things. The top lock appears to be not affected.
Saw an old post detailing that the screws came out inside the lock and that it could be put back together and perhaps locktite would keep the screws in place.
Comments and recommendations, please. Thanks in advance.

We used some of Kat's nail polish. Keeps the screws from loosening but can get them out if needed. It is an old computer trick when computers were primarily built by hand.

Well, took the lock apart and I cannot see why the tumbler/lock fell out. No loose screws or brackets. Was able to get the tumbler back in and it works, but it appears that it will fall out again. Used the nail polish on the 4 screws to re-install the lock. I do not believe that I fixed it.

Joe. We have the same vintage trailer (and Tow Vehicle). Was there any indication that it was starting to get loose before this happened. If not I'll open mine up and secure the screws before it happens.

Dave,
No, DW turned the key and the tumbler fell out. I really cannot see what keeps it in other then the screws keeping the entire mechanism tight so the tumbler stays put.
