F350 Nav
I am disappointed in the navigation system in my new 2011 F350. Does not seem to be as robust as my NUVI. Bummer worth $1700.

I love mine, well worth the money, and from what I have read the new one is much better with Sync.

For the most part, I like ours...a lot. However, last Friday when we were leaving a campground in Southern Mass and traveling North to our currnt campground in Maine, our NavSys decided it would be fun to take us off I95 North and go onto I93 North. Well, both routes were going North so what could it hurt? As it turned out, I93 North took us through Boston, and it was during the morning "rush hour." Can't say I enjoyed the side trip a single bit. To make the adventure more complete, there is a tunnel you have to go through which has a clearance of 13' 6". I didn't think there would be a problem since the info I had indicated our Montana's max height is/was 12' 9". Oops! That figure does not include the bedroom a/c. I have since discovered that our clearance is 13' 3"...and since we still have a bedroom a/c after going through the tunnel, I know that we have at least something less than 13' 6" clearance. So, I like the NavSys, but that will teach me not to have blind trust in it.

CamillaMichael,
You have identified why I plan our trips on the laptop prior to putting it in the vehicle GPS. The Laptop lets me see the whole picture and then work on any possible low bridges and getting around major cities.

In all fairness to Ford, I am still overwhelmed with the tech in the truck. I don't think one can download from cpu. I just think my Nuvi is more friendly and robust.

Illapah, maybe you can find some preferences or options from the Ford system in order to make it more usable for you and more like the Nuvi. Or maybe you can break down and use the Nuvi anyway.
It could take some doing, but maybe you could also find out who Ford gets their system from and get some operational tips from them or others who use that system.
