Just bought a 5th Airborne Pin Box. Does anyone have any installation tips. Where do I put the electical box?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Mine is mounted inside between the shock and air bag and as far left as possible, throught the top plate. Give me a minute and I will post a picture.
Try this:

I mounted mine to the bottom flange near the back of the pin box on the street side. Just drilled a couple holes thru it and used self tapping screws. It does hang down under the pin box, but is not in the way of any thing and in no danger of hitting any thing. The Monty is in storage, but I could get a picture later if you want.

If you have the right size pinbox, the installation should be straight forward. It is grunt work because the 5th airborne is heavy. We attached the rear set of bolt holes and upswung the front end up to attach the front bolts.
We ran the wiring similar to the way it was on the box we took off. A self-tapping screw will help you put it where you want.

Did you get the 5th Abn air pressure service kit with it that allows you to inflate the hitch from the side instead of the bottom? If not here is a link: http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fu...d/22751369.cfm. Just call 5th Abn and they will send you the kit.

If you haven't done it yet. I hooked up my trailer, unbolted the old pin box and raised the trailer to remove old box. I only moved the trailer far enough to remove and old pin from intsall new one and backed unter the trailer and lowered trailer. slipped reight in.
I mounted electrical box to the inside of the pin box. Knock-outs one of the 1/2"knockouts in the box and intsall it on one of the pin box bolts by double nut.
You will be happy with the pin 5th AB.

Mark, once again, you amazed me.....what an easy way to do this task!
BTW, I fixed that wobbly rack problem with a new rack, will show it off at Q.

Tim - Thanks for the info about the modification kit. I e-mailed them about it. Did not get any reply, but the kit came in by UPS today.
